Think the KKK must vote on this award given that Norwood's Austin Wonaeamirri can't get a nomination.

I think Josh Cubillo's nomination would throw that theory out

He must be ineligible because he's from the tiwi islands.
If he is eligible, then it is downright lunacy that he isnt nominated.

So is there going to be an overall winner?

To be eligible for the Award, nominees are required to meet the following criteria:

players must have played no more than 8 State League games at the start of the 2007 season
players must be aged 21 or under at January 1, 2007
AFL rookies are eligible for the award unless promoted to the senior list of their AFL club
Players who are suspended by the tribunal during the 2007 season are ineligible to win the award
Following each round of the home and away season, each competing club nominates one eligible player from their team. A review panel then selects one player as the Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee.

The review panel consists of:

Glen Rosser (General Manager - State League Competition)
James Fantasia (General Manager – Game Development)
Daniel Thomas (SANFL Football Services Manager)
Brenton Phillips (SANFL Talent Manager)

Each weekly nominee receives a gift pack, compliments of Coca-Cola. On the completion of the minor round, one of the 23 nominees will be chosen as the 2007 Coca-Cola Star Search Award Winner. Voting will take place in the following ways:

Review panel choose a winner who is awarded $1500 - Coca-Cola Star Search Award Winner
The public choose a winner by voting on the SANFL Website (winner awarded $500)

The Coca-Cola Star Search Award Winner will be presented with a cheque for $1500 at the Magarey Medal Presentation Dinner.

In which round and instead of whom would Wonaeamirri have been nominated?

HBT,
As good as Wonaeamirri might be, 23 very good players have been nominated in 23 rounds of footy, personally I was suprised Wundke hadn't been nominated prior to this week, but I had just figured that the rounds that he had stared some one else had done better, this week he got the gig.
Wonaeamirri may be unlucky, but more than likelet, he's not alone. What rounds did he star in ?, and as Grahaml said, who out of the nominees would have missed out?
There has been plenty of worthy players not win a magarey over the years, this is no different, you can't give out more awards than what are available.
To suggest the selection process had been racist is down right absurd, it clearly has not been.

Firstly, I havent suggested at all that the selection process was racist. Get that right. I'm assuming that the players that have been nominated are all from SA. Making me believe that it might be part of the eligibility.
TBH, I struggle to remember a game where Aussie didnt star! But I guess another player may have pipped him every time. Do the selectors watch every game every week?

Cubillo is not from SA so that blows your SA theory and looking at the eligibility criteria is says players must not have played more than 8 State League games and I think you will find that "Aussie" has played a number of games at Senior Level in the NT League so that is probably why he hasn't been nominated - he is not eligible.

Well that answers the reason why he hasnt been nominated. Cheers.
Stupid rule though, as it assumes that the NT league is of equal quality as the SANFL, WAFL or VFL. Always believe that the NT league is a third teir league along with QAFL, ACTAFL, SydAFL, Tassie etc.

Topsy, on the prowl for xenophobic behaviour, was surley disappointed to find that truth was much more boring than fiction...

I might be slightly biased but I find it very difficult to separate our star quartet

Evans and Fish have been fantastic; Macca's a quality player and top lad; Darling's been an outstanding acquisition for the SFC.
