Good session. Good partnership. Probably ensuring a draw.

Roots use of Archer is bemusing. Bowled 21 of first 56 overs and today was not as quick as he almost took o the role of a packhorse. Should be used in 3 over spells of outright speed. Risk wearing him into the ground.

Would likely have to be rolled in the next session for there to be any chance of a result.

I think Smith wears a Shrey helmet? And I don't think they come with the neck protectors as standard issue? He obviously just chooses not to use them.
