Got dragged to Marion on Monday night and it was completely dead, shop assistants twiddling their thumbs, complete opposite of what I was expecting.

8 shopping days out from Christmas isn't exactly peak shopping time though, is it?

Or Monday, it's the smart time to shop, women aren't renown for that and men still have 6.5 days up their sleeve to do their Christmas shopping.

Not a place I would ever choose to go to, it was out of necessity.

Online orders are killing it.
AP had a couple of days already that have had 30-40% increases in freight volumes over previous years and this year looks like smashing all previous years so the money is still out there it’s just people can’t be stuffed going to shops

That’s across all their various arms of the business.
One of the big wigs was on radio yesterday and mentioned that Monday was the biggest day so far and that they ran at about 90% delivery rate (obviously some arms of the business are better, some are worse)

Im guessing online sales are really hurting, maybe Marion will go nuts once people realise they cant get an online delivery by christmas.

Ordered some items from Surfstitch in QLD at 2pm Friday and Saturday morning when I came home from work the article was left behind the pillar at front of house.
They have a fleet of staff packing everyday and they dispatch each night and AP are working Saturdays and Sundays ATM the so was very happy with the service. Over $60 spent and it’s free delivery and free return if it doesn’t fit or you want to exchange it.
Metro Adelaide they guarantee delivery before Christmas Day if ordered before 2pm EST on Monday

My wife ordered stuff from Myer & some essential oil place. Both items have been collected by Aust Post in Sydney, travelled to Melbourne, and have sat there since SATURDAY. Still haven’t moved. I worked for Aust Post a few years ago, the shit that goes on is staggering. We have deliveries left behind our gate despite it clearly indicating SIGNATURE REQUIRED. We have put a sign up asking for parcels not to be left as we have a new pup who chews them up - they still leave the parcels. They’re service is shit for what you pay for IMO.

Agree, they can quite poor at times.
Just depends which arm of the APG the sender uses. Places like Surfstitch, Mimco, Country Road etc use Startrack Premium as a rule and they run at close to 98% next day delivery. If it goes into the post network then good luck [emoji6]

Yep, never had an issue with StarTrack - we use Surfstitch & GolfBox regularly & have no issue.

It took 3 weeks recently for my parcel to turn up through Aus post.
I complained after the 2nd week and told them to hurry up.
A week later it turned up, then 2 days later the same parcel turned up.......AGAIN!
Ordered once, paid once, delivered twice.
Not sure if it’s Aus post or the suppliers fault but I only had one tracking number and it was for the 2nd delivery.

Either way they can work out their error and contact me if they want it back.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Ordered some shirts from Black Friday, had them 11am on the Monday through Star Track

I reckon AP get a hard time when it’s usually the person sending them that’s the issue

Yeah it’s easy for the sender to blame AP as they are an easy target unfortunately
