Something that once seemed a part of everyday life, a chore at times even, but watching my son get through a whole footy training session last night hit the heart strings big time.
2 or 3 weeks ago I thought there was zero chance of him playing footy this year, he couldn't get in or out of the car without stumbling and was getting dizzy changing direction running.
Through sheer determination he is breaking down the barriers that life has placed before him, he even took part in tackling drills.
We later had to attend an information seminar at the CDFC for his development squad and I was able to confidently tell the coach that I think he'll be ready to go by the season opener, he's put on a few kilo's again and he was moving around very swiftly, still plenty of boxes to tick but f*** it felt good to see the rapid improvement.
BTW, he got a hearing aid installed earlier in the week, it gives him headaches though.
