This Site...

Postby LPH » Thu Sep 20, 2007 11:52 am

Well, it appears the end is drawing near my fine feathered friends. :(

The closer we get to Sunday, the more I feel that my big mouth may be about to become closed for good.

Having read a number of posts from overnight, it appears that some posters are getting a little 'hot under the collar', when it comes to wind-up's & stirring.

All I can say to that, is CHILL OUT DUDES 8)

I admit, I have been VERY guilty of trolling & winding people up over the course of the year... & I have recieved NUMEROUS PM's & 'raps on the knuckles' for doing so, during this time.

IF the Eagles lose on Sunday, then I will be true to my word & cease to contribute (will post a SINGLE parting post on Monday, & be gone forever) :(

But before this happens...

I think we ALL OWE a HUGE THANK YOU to Wedgie & the rest of the moderators of this site for allowing all of us the opportunity to contribute viewpoints, comments, 'razzes' etc... as well as 'keeping us from killing each other' :D

At the start of the season I was SHATTERED that footysa.com collapsed.
I wondered where on Earth I was going to be able to 'get my online fix' of SANFL... I need NOT have worried :D

The BEST thing about sites such as this is that we can ALL BE HEARD (yes, some of us shout louder than others) but we ALL have the right to contribute & we ALL have the opportunity to recieve & take the p**s out of each other (even Sturt supporters):D

To those that I have met in person during the year & will again on Sunday, it is GREAT to put faces to names... & to see that we are all really just the SAME... we have a LOVE for our clubs & our competition.

So thanks lads, for a great site & a good laugh... it is the HIGHLIGHT of my working day to get on here & 'cyber-slack'... Cheers :D

There, rant over...

GO YOU EAGLES !!!

Good words there LEH. As I've posted before being a stay at home Dad, I don't get the "footy banter" that I would when I used to work, so site's like this at least let me have a laugh, have a fit and most of all have a say...

Have to admit that first choice for me is the Redlegs forum but this one is a very very close second. Only registered during the 'Great 2007 Server Crash' and logging in was a bit like the first day at school...surounded by people who know much much more about footy than I do...but everyone, without exception, has been great and very welcoming/tolerant. Always love the banter and the way that nearly everyone is gracious in victory and magnanimous in defeat. *sniff* you're lovely, lovely people and I love you all *sniff*

JAS

Any aussie rules, Sanfl forum is great, unfortunately this one has too many people on it that know too much about footy, I am just a useless drunk yobbo that likes footy but knows little about it :D . Seriously though, this forum is great, to those that run it a big thanks and to those that contribute the same, always good to come on here after you have been belted for a read cause there is always something on here that makes you smile

A great site indeed - only topped by JAS's cooking!
Great to swap banter with fellow SANFL addicts. It would be so hard living in Mildura without having you guys to turn to for my slice of the SANFL news!
Cheers

How about you let some of that water actually get past your town then - as a favour in return, bdp?

Smac, wishing I could but would have to have some water reach us first. Have had the lowest rainfall on record here and blockies are doing it very very hard. They all wish they could be in SA where the growers are given a larger water allocation. :(

BDP - ahhhh, but your blockies had more water than ours last year. They were running at 90 odd percent allocations, whereas ours dropped down to as low as 60 and has dropped continuously since. ;)

You may be right, DW. Have not been here long enough to really know. All I know is that somehow we still present an 'illusion' of greenery around here. Btw, any chance of catching up with you and Smac on Sunday?

Mate, call in at my place on the way through (there or back) ;)

I can't make it this week, have a wedding to go to tomorrow, don't imagine I'll be in any state to travel on Sunday!

Enjoy the wedding, DW. Will scream my lungs out twice as hard on Sunday to make up for you not being there. Where is home for you btw?

I'm running on presumptions as well mate, all I know is that's the greenest place I've ever seen in the middle of a 'desert'.

Big chance of catching up with me - let me know where you intend to stand or PM me your mobile. Will wander around for a beer at some stage.
