If the under 16's are using this ground it is the biggest joke of all time. This ground the only way to score is to hit the ball in the air due to the infield and outfield being so thick.
The wicket is horrific.
if you were a young kid why would you play for SD if you had to play on this every second game go down the road and play for Reynella. this ground was a joke and when they pulled it from the C's and D;s I thought that SACA finally listened to all the complaints - but instead its a junior ground give me a break.
There has to be a better ground in the area - and i haven't even started on limited shade and facilities!! the WORST ground I've ever played cricket at in 20+ yearts of playing!
The wicket is good now
Outfield though still much too long as you said. And yes, the amenities...!
Pretty sure Reynella's No 2 oval is at Woodcroft College which is also a very nice ground. Shame Southerns couldn't get hold of it. Has a hard wicket adjacent too so they could have had U16s and U14s next to each other in a nice setting.

They had their opportunity before reynella went turf but knocked it back because the block and the oval were in such poor condition.
No foresight.
Reynella spent a lot of money and time to get it right and now its in great knick.

Yikes... that's a debacle of a decision. A turf oval and a hard wicket oval next to each other in your heartland at the largest school in the southern suburbs and one that plays in college cricket competitions.
And there is such a huge shortage of turf ovals around their area too.
Well played Reynella I guess.

E2014 - Southern's tried to swoop in at the expiry of Reynella's first contract, however the dot point "first right of return" stopped Southern's in there tracks .
Pardon the pun but lets just say Reynella are on a very good wicket both from a playing sense and financially with the college.

Will run a couple. Please post your 5-4-3-2-1 votes for main ovals and also 5-4-3-2-1 votes for second ovals.
You can factor in pitch, outfield, changerooms, clubrooms, viewing for spectators/players, surrounds... or whatever you value most highly.
5 votes (best ground)

Main ovals - Bice, Campbelltown, Glandore, Glenelg, Henley, Parkinson, Pertaringa, Port Reserve, Price Memorial, Prospect, Salisbury, University and Woodville
Second ovals - Adelaide High, Broadview, Bulkana, Camden, Colonel Waite, EP Nazar, Henley High, Paddocks, Park 23, St Clair, University #2, Unley and Windsor Gardens
Played on almost all these ovals, but my opinion will be out of date...
Main ovals:
5 - University (loved it was close to Adel Oval, the church bells, the old scoreboard which kept your score and the nice outfield).
4 - Henley Oval (a bit biased, nice sea breeze, never too hot)
3 - Woodville Oval
2 - Parkinson Oval
1 - Salisbury Oval
Second Ovals
5 - Unley Oval (better than Price)
4 - Henley High (better than Henley Oval to play on)
3 - St Clair
2 - Camden
1 - University #2

Have Adelaide named a new coach yet after Taity departed?
Was at Gillespie's and saw Ports keeper training with the Seahorses so must be returning home

If that's the case Port must have picked up a 'keeper from somewhere?
Speaking of the Bays, I heard around the traps that Josh Hoffman has quit cricket again? Another one who has been though all the junior programs only to pull the pin, along with the likes of Reardon, Gutschke etc. from recent times.
