Where are the eagles supporters, didn't you merge with two clubs, surely you can get more people to the game than what you did today. Surprised me, i didn't stick around for the other game last week, now i know what wedgie was talking about last week...Thought that we where well supported today, the wagon was nearly full. Well done to the eagles on a good win.

Here we go again yes we acknowledge as Eagles fans that the club has a very poor following .
Its very hard for the likes of myself LEH Aerie Spellcheck mighty Eagles(when hes not at the junior games) and anyone else I've missed from this site that are Eagles fans to do more than we do .
Hell i heard the same eagles voices that i hear every week.the cheer squad did well .
But there is only 2000 odd of us .

And if you attend SANFL games you may well have met one of the above named and myself.

Its getting a bit like that LBT

We will get there one day!!!!

Well if you don't like that Southee get your club to do something about it. It's not the eags and dogs fault if no one else is good enough to fight it out in the GF

McKenzie provided lots of run from half back, Redden also played well. Schwarze was better than average and was our best tall up forward whilst Treeby played a blinder kicking 4 goals.

Some silly mistakes in the report by Graham Badger on ABC news a few minutes ago

 said that the Eagle who kicked the goal from the free at half time was Pedler (it was Jarrad)
 said the Glenelg player who gave away the stupid free was Cranston (it was Kirk)

How hard is it to get it right, especially when the commentators called the players correctly???

I was there in full voice this week. I acknowledge we don't have the same support as some others but ours are loyal we don't rely on bandwagoners when we're going well. Geeeez give us a break about it though I'm so sick of reading another post on how poor the Eagles attendance was again.

Would agree with you EHL .Kenny Mac found it hard to get into the game .Bernie Vince tried very hard all day .
And if Schwarze had his kicking boot on Glenleg would have been buried early in the game. And the Eagles broke down accross half forward all day.

It is trotted out every week, I know. Especially when the Eagles have won against a side and it becomes "all you can say"

Brad Geddes. Ron Fuller has done what seems to be an annual thing now "the out of the blue player late in the season" - 2005 with Lomas and Vince, last year with Paul Stewart, and now Geddes. He didn't get a lot of the ball, but was very composed on two occasions - in the third quarter, aiming a kick at goal with the checkside bounce, and Symmons was in the goalsquare to capitalise on it; and in the last quarter from a set shot - every goal by both sides was a pressure one, and he did his bit by kicking truly.

spellcheck do you anything about Pretenko and P Stewart kicking the ball on the oval pregame with some of the other Eagles players .Was this a ploy or were there injury concerns .

I don't know, I could only guess that it was a ploy, but not sure.

LBJ23 - I reckon there were about twice as many Eagles supporters there today as last week!!

Both teams should be congratulated for the way they played the game. All came down to a bit of luck in the end. Symmons play to keep the ball in was great, to get that much purchase on the kick and to land where it did was luck.

Eagles pace is still a worry.

Injuries to Cooper and Cica?

Aerie - thought Kirkby did farily well, battle maybe just won by McKenzie.

So Glenelg fans are bandwagonners but eagles fans just all long time supporters of the sanfl ??? what bloody bandwagon, we havent won anything for 21 years!!! you need at least some sucess to even put wheels on a bandwagon ala sturt 2002. A team like the sydney swans is an example of a premiership leading to a huge influx of support. Enjoy the win but no need to be cocky, as the reigning premier youve just been beaten and pushed by two teams who were cellar dwellers only 3 years ago (4 in norths case) finals experience was something like Glenelg 22 games, Eagles 90+

Agree on quality. What a final....Not a lot of voice left now. Symo set the scene with an courageous early mark & goal and the fearless attack on the ball. Those that called for him to be dropped were a little harsh. Macca close to BOG, treeby & flash were sensational.

Give us a break LBT we need a little amount of Cockiness after a win .
And in finals all you need to win by is a point .Just accept glenelgs loss and move on .I was thinking part way through the last quarter I'd be fishing 3 days next weekend instead of 2 .But I was wrong
