Re: Southern Football League
The SFL report into the racial abuse issue has been issued today. A couple of points immediately stand out;
1) If the five culprits are not identified, how can they be stopped from attending any SFL game they wish to?
2) The report states that the Chair of the new Reconciliation Committee must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island heritage. Is this not racist in its own right? That is, if an Anglo Saxon person aspired to the position, he / she would be eliminate on race grounds!!!

That comment sounds like you could be Person H
Why would you not want the presiding member to be a First Nations person? The main idea around reconciliation is engagement and understanding. Surely the best engagement is to assign someone with that background to lead the discussion.
It does need to be the right person though, but we have many capable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our Southern Football community who would be great in that role.

The fixation SFL have for social media or media platform's is concerning. Get over feed back both positive or negative or don't read it.

Re: Southern Football League
Thanks to Morphett Vale for the 5 trials today, quality club, quality ground and best of all high quality people.
All the best for the season.
SFL umpires board, well they are a little different. Just didn’t turn up for the B’s.

One assumes the people who handed down the ban ( How long is it for? ) had irrefutable evidence that the people banned were indeed guilty.
I'm picturing a suburban football ground, players and fans all having a carry on, would be difficult to pin point who said what without a witness pointing the finger, wouldn't it?
Where's the statement King?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

Geez, slow day Booney.
Dragged that one out a nowhere.
I've heard, lots of people know who the culprit/s are but aren't willing to go on record.
Could be bs but I guess we'll never know.
The whole thing was dealt with poorly from the outset.

Umpiring is a dying art. A bit like volunteering, numbers are stretched with more football than ever (junior girls & women's), somewhere will miss out.

Re: Southern Football League
Very quiet on here.
How's everybody looking.
I notice still a lot of clearances pending on the sfl website.
Nothing like leaving things to the last minute.

Speaking of umpires, the CSLFUP has just released the rules and interpretations that the umpires will be adjudicating by this year in both leagues.
Take note of the 15m arc at kick-ins, 25m penalty (down from 50m) and the tightening on abuse against umpires.
Appears umpire retention is getting more and more difficult.

I dont think it useful in building relationships umpires and clubs (coaches and players) by not attending rooms prior to the game.
Up here we are encouraged to do it. "Ask how they're going, any new players in this week, any questions clarifications, no, good. See you out there. BTW how are the team sheets going?"
Separation creates division, conversation creates collegiality
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
