R13 South v Eagles Saturday 1335
Both sides coming off a loss.
First time round South got up by 8 points in a hard fought affair.
Eagles have won 8 off the last 10 and have won 20 of 27 at Noarlunga. Impressive.
South need to make a change with their forward set up. I expect Fitt will play.
AS per usual, South b y a point.

Re: R13 South v Eagles Saturday 1335
WHEN South Adelaide’s Hayden Sampson dons his club’s Indigenous guernsey he thinks of mum Tasha and Aboriginal “trailblazer” David Kantilla.
“I wear this jumper with great pride,’’ he said at a photo shoot where players from the 10 SANFL clubs unveiled the striking guernseys they will showcase in SANFL Indigenous Round, starting with Friday night’s Norwood-Sturt clash at The Parade.
“Mum’s aboriginal, from the Northern Territory, and Kantilla was a superstar footballer and a real trailblazer for our footy club.
“To have a chance to show your culture, really put it in the spotlight for a round like this is something I'm really proud of.’’
Sampson, the 21-year-old son of 1997 Crows AFL premiership forward Clay Sampson, said Kantilla held legendary status at Pantherland, where he is a Hall of Fame member. Nicknamed “Soapy” and originally from the Tiwi Islands in the NT, he is recognised as the first Indigenous Australian to play in the SANFL after debuting for South in 1961.
Standing at 196cm and possessing a giant leap, Kantilla won consecutive Knuckey Cups as Panthers club champion in his first two years at the club, represented SA four times and starred in the ruck in South’s 1964 grand final triumph against Port Adelaide – the club’s last flag.
SANFL Indigenous Round, which leads into NAIDOC Week, is a celebration and recognition of all SANFL Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players who have made, and continue to make, such a significant contribution to Australian football.
A Welcome to Country or Acknowledgment of Country will be performed before each league game during the round.
“All the guernseys look great,’’ said Sampson, a dashing wingman/half-back who represented South Australia in this year’s 53-point win against WA at Adelaide Oval. “There are so many different designs and they are all very sharp.’’
South’s Indigenous guernsey was designed by Flinders University student Mya Damon. The theme behind the design is connection, particularly the connection between the Panthers and their local southern region.
“It was great to be able to include bright colours and symbols to symbolise coming together, community and connection,’’ Damon said.
The front of the South guernsey shows meeting places and others coming together as one while the back symbolises the Panthers’ connection to Port Noarlunga at Flinders University Stadium.

Re: R13 South v Eagles Saturday 1335
Gutless last quarter by south, behind and needing to win refused to take on the game and go down the middle. A one goal second half shows where south are at. Sensational effort by the Eagles defence.

I had a coworker whose an eagles fan call me during the game swearing saying how many Fing frees do south get?
I said so many south players were throwing their heads back for frees even if they weren’t getting hit high!

The Eagles fans are understandably incensed by getting stiffed by the umps; they simply aren't used to it.

Not how many you get, it’s where & when you get them.

Use footy live. Best footy app there is and although an AFL app, has the SANFL stats
