It is, but surely every player is allowed to go for the ball and the keeper was stuck behind... honestly keepers are so precious

A solid opening win for the Boomers next up Italy on Wednesday evening.

Australia 84 (Mills 25, Kay 12, Exum 11, Ingles 11) def Nigeria 67 (Emegano 12, Okogie 11, Achiuwa 10, Nwora 10)

France just beat the USA 83-76.

I am no basketball officianado however looking at both teams last night, comprised of plenty of highly paid professional NBA players.... how come the free throw shooting is so poor? Is that the equivalent of missing a goal from 20 metres straight in front? Surely that’s a skill mastered at under 16 level.

Titmus vs Ledecky

The Olympic debutant vs the one who went 7.5 years without losing a race, and has never lost an individual event at the Olympics.

I'm super excited for Arnie and hope she can live up to the expectations, but geez we're putting some pressure on someone who's never been to the Olympics before.

I must say I was initially disappointed with Ledecky's reaction. Titmus went to the rope and looked over toward Ledecky but she had moved over to the other rope and didn't appear to look over. Next shot I saw however was Ledecky giving Titmus a hug out of the pool so kudos for that. Must be difficult to deal with the pressure and expectation so perhaps, in the pool, she just needed to gather her thoughts.
Great race too!
