Also it was a well umpired game we got some cheap ones so did the Eagles but by and large they looked after the bloke going for the footy.

Best game I’ve seen Bowen umpire
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Huge pressure on Glenelg now. From 17-0 to being out in straight sets would play heavily on their mind

Was anyone else expecting the game to go a couple minutes longer than it did ?
8 goals and 2 stoppages to blood rules in the last quarter.

Gratz to the.Eagles who were too good for 3 quarters and indeed for the game.

Cheers to most* of the fans who were happy to accept my hand after.

Some bad winners in the Eagles camp?

Surprising result, makes next week’s prelim a very interesting affair. Early days at this stage, but I’d expect the Bays to bounce back and force a second semi replay 2019 style. Then again, underestimate the Panthers at your peril, would be great to see them make the grannie.

No mockers intended, but if the Bays lost next week was there ever a time a club went the entire season virtually unbeaten and didn't make the GF?
I'm seriously struggling to remember one.

Probably not many, but Port went 17-2-1 in 1970 and were out in straight sets.
Sturt were 17-3 and defeated Glenelg (11-9) in the GF.

Ok I still can’t believe the Eagles won that game . 29 points up Glenelg ran over the top of them . Then came back .
I think the Glenelg player name escapes me running through the centre could’ve won the game . But Tsitas what a tackle to basically stop glenelgs run and basically win the game .
I’m still in shock I’ve seen the posts about sides stopping after being the best all year . I’m an Eagles fan seen the Eagles do it in the finals so often .
But Eagles are into the grand final !!!

Well done Eagles, first team in to the GF. That was a fantastic game to watch as a neutral and I’m happy that the Bays came back to force both teams to use that bit of extra energy. Feel sorry for the Glenelg player (sorry don’t know his name) who came off looking very ginger and blood coming from his head, I hope he’s ok. See you next week TigersFans!

Yes, reckon Port in 1970 is the best example. Obviously, there are instances of minor premiers bombing out in straight sets (other post-war examples - South 1991, Centrals 1979, Port 1982, Torrens 1963, North 1958), but not having dominated the season with a win-loss ratio like the Bays had.

There was only one point, suppose if there was the usual few more that would add another minute.

Hope the Bay player is okay, on the telly it looked like he was bleeding from his ear.
