I don't think either party wanted to part ways. Ladhams wants more ruck time but he's behind Lycett so he either looked around and we, rightly, made it clear we'd want a bit for him or he stays and earns the spot he wants.

I think next year is big for both Ladhams and Lycett. Ladhams should be making a case for being the #1 and Lycett has 2 years to go on a deal. Lycett might get cast aside if Ladhams and Hayes are up his tail pipe.

How do the crows have pick 17 to offer?
In any case, yes the pressure is on sydney to agree and i think they will realise 23 is better than 0.
On the other hand, i cant remember the exact detail, but they held off on fapley last year and he still went alright for them in 2020.

Papley was contracted so had to stay. Dawson is not. This will not end well for them the way they are going, and it might not end well for Crows if another team grab him before them in PSD but very unlikely.

I was under the impression he was going to work for Carlton (not as a coach).

To me this is surprising.

Wasted 2 years on the Carlton list when they could have been developing a kid. Shocking move by both Carlton and Eddie.

Just read this Tweet :

BICKS : "Port Adelaide have got a lot of sameness about it – Powell-Pepper, Wines. I know they want to introduce Butters and Rozee and those types… and they did bring in Karl Amon, but if it’s me I’m still looking to add another player…

“Is it Lachie Jones? Is he a player that you say, you know what, you’ve played a lot at halfback and we probably thought at some stage in your career you would move through the middle. Do we put a huge pre-season into him? He’s a big, bustling type. I’m not sure what his endurance is like…”

ROWEY: “He’s explosive. He’s another Petracca.”

BICKS: “Exactly. If you streamline him a bit, get some kilometres into him… Is he someone you start to invest in straight away and say we’re going to make a midfielder out of you?”

ROWEY: “Great idea.”

How does he have a job as a footy commentator?

Fair call, I wasn't listening, just read the tweet on the AA feed.

Wonder why commentators always say "The next *insert super star here*", why not "The next Hamish Hartlett", if we get 200 games and leadership group time from Jones that'd be great, why go with the "Another Petracca"?

We legit had no small forwards on the list that were young, still don't, not in the Eddie type crumbing forward.

You are taking a risk though. North could take the gamble and pick him up. They have nothing to lose, they have cap space and maybe they can get him to enjoy Melbourne rather than Sydney?

Not sure that's going to lure overs from the Crows though.
It's not like a Nick Stevens situation where he wanted to get to Victoria...the lad wants to get home to SA. The only risk would be if Port had a pick before us in the PSD.

Pick 17 was a good offer to be honest. Not sure why Sydney turned it down.

What were you guys giving to the dogs for pick?
