It really makes me wonder how good the 321 system is. MacKenzie and Symes poll the best part of 4 best on grounds or there abouts to finish basically third-ish, and don't poll any other time.

Let's say a player is injured all year, comes back for the last 6 rounds, get's 5 BOGs and wins.... are they really the fairest and most brilliant player for the year?

Yes, the votes say they are. But not really probably? I don't know.

I'm surprised Chambo polled so well, he deserved to but I didn't think the umps liked him much with all the frees and 25's against him, thought he was going to win it for a fleeting second, great season, well done.
Thought the interview with Brodie was excellent, what a laugh!
How many non Sth Aussies have won the medal?
Congratulations to Allen, good luck in the final.

Good count last night I thought (especially the bit with Brodie  )

Is it true James Allen lives with an Umpire?

He would have give it a big shake but you could also say the same about Nelson - he polled well but missed a few with injury.

Jimmy Allan did miss two games plus played a couple with injury including the Nwd game in the wet where he had 10 possies in the first quarter and spent the rest of the game on the bench so it would be fair to say he could have polled even better too?

Congratulations to James.

Looking at the votes, you'd have to say the umpires have, overall, got it pretty right, the players in the top ten or so are the better ones in the comp by most judges' estimates

Good to see a deserving player take out the award. He did not even have to dye his hair blond to catch the umpire's eyes!

The ironic thing is that he played 75 matches consecutively until that injury. Then, having polled 12 votes in 8 matches, he's injured.
