The Roosters long wait continues.
North Adelaide's long wait for a premiership is set to continue. After 16 year long years in waiting it was like a dream for Roosters supporters to be back on the big stage again. But if there's a lesson to be learned from this it's not to get too far ahead of yourselves because the celebration after the PF win last week were too big. Put a lid on it future fellas and it may hold you in good stead. Comiserations fellas.

I went to the game as a neutral supporter and to be fair it wouldnt have made any difference to the result if Wintle didnt play

Wouldn't have made much difference when you lose by that much.

Agreed, like the AFL, the Dogs were a class above. A match fit Barrie Robran wouldn't have affected the result today, the Dogs were always going to win. To strong around the ball, too clean in their disposal and the height in the forward line to stretch one of the better SANFL defences.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I can not remember too many North supporters getting ahead of themselves
We all knew we were playing the top team by 5-6 games
Don't confuse being excited about our 1st GF in 16 years as assuming we would win

Good call Hondo, Norths fans were excited to see their club back on the biggest stage, the G/F. I certainly didnt detect any overt "over-confidence"'
Well Done Roosters on resurrecting your club from the "dark days" of the late 90's/early 00's back into being perrenial finalists.

It appeared to me looking on last week that the North players were thinking they were a little better than they actually are.

Eaglehaslanded, how long is it going take you to get over the fact North gave you a 4 goal start and beat you comfortably by 4. Get over it.
There were no over the top celebrations from North about last weeks win and although excited to be in the GF, clearly we werent good enough to make it a contest.

I'm well and truly over it G. It just looked that way from my prospective. We're all entitled to our own opinions. I just thought it was good to see that Central don't seem to mind who they give a hiding to in the GF these days

Yes, we must congratulate North on making it to the big stage, especially after where they were four years ago. However, how much longer will Jars say he will never play unfit players in a final and then play them. There is little doubt that Hart, Gill, Ladhams and Wintle all carried injuries into the game. Having said that, Hart put in a wonderful first half before his injury took its toll.
Cheers

From my vantage point last week I saw player's shedding tears, hugging North supporters at the race as they went off, and even running along the boundary line high fiving the fans. A number of players who took the field for North today were too excited to have just made a grand final.
I'm not saying that they shouldn't have been happy and indeed very proud of what they'd achieved, but they planted the seed for what took place today with those few moments immediately after last weeks match. Any celebrations should have been done in private. No doubt the Centrals players and coaching staff took a little extra something out of those celebrations.
Yes you were too good for the Eagles last week and no we probably wouldn't have defeated Centrals today, they were a class above. But don't try to deny the North players actions last week.
Bad luck. Move on. Good luck next year...

Nathan Lonie will most likely be wanting to be traded to a Melbourne based club next year assuming that a club will take him. If he does stay playing for the Power next year, I hope that North do not keep him on their list next year at the expense of a player that really does want to wear the Red and White and give everything for the club.
North have made several comments this year through their website re the way the SANFL clubs have been treated by the Crows and Power. Hopefully they take the drivers seat in dealing with these issues in the off season.

Can't argue mate. North supporters shut up nicely this week, well played. If they won, it was gloat central!

Well talking of getting ahead of themselves they were selling T-shirts with ROOSTER HEAVEN IN 2007 on the front and a picture of the premiership cup on the back.

Dogs01, it is heaven for other sides to make it to a Grand Final! They needed the pic of the Premiership Cup to remind them of what it looks like during its eternal sitting at Elizabeth!

Re: The Roosters long wait continues.
IMO, the situation North were in today was similar to Centrals in 1995.
4 years ago, North were a complete laughingstock - 1 win and on the verge of folding. It's amazing that they've gone from that to today in the space of 4 years. The club should be congratulated on how well they've turned things around.
No one would have beaten Centrals today, and North probably would have been the only side to get as close as they did today.

And from what I saw today, the majority of Centrals supporters are ***wits of the highest order.
