Nathan Batsanis

Postby NFC » Mon Oct 08, 2007 5:41 pm

After what I thought was a promising first season on an AFL list, he's been cut by the Power. That came as a surprise to me and I'd like to hear the thoughts of Eagles fans.

Is he is a chance to be re-drafted or rookied by another club? I would think he's a chance.

Upside - good foot skills and knows how and loves to kick a goal. Finds space well.
Downside - not much defensive ability. Poor when it is in tight.

Probably would be a reasonable state league player if he improves his defensive game and work rate. Would have to improve a massive amount to make AFL IMO. Still, he is only very young (18) so has plenty of time to work on his game and if he wants to make it he has the attacking skills already in place.

I don't think Nathan Batsanis is the type of player the Eagles need to recruit for next year. If Batsanis is not associated with an AFL club next year the Eagles would have to pay for his services, I think this money could be better spent. The Eagles should be desperate for some quick onballers and this type of player must be top priority. It can be seen from yesterday's grand final that onballers win the game....if the ball is pumped forward enough times someone will kick goals. The Eagles must urgently rejig their on ball unit.

I'd say a good chance of getting picked up by the Demons due to the Dean Bailey connection, possibly on main list, but more than likely perhaps a rookie placement.

He is an "I" player. Would not know a team mate if he fell over him. Too selfish. Apart from that pretty good.

In agreement Ferret. Has a lot to learn and lacks accountability which is a big issue with Ron. Can't see another AFL club picking him up and probably not a SANFL club either.
