I'd rather America's 'power and influence' be put to better use. Not that I want to see more war, but it would be better IMO if any future overseas American military action were concentrated on protecting liberal democracies (e.g. Taiwan) whose people are actually interested in defending themselves - notwithstanding the tragedy of Afghanistan and implications of Taliban rule on women.
Or sort there own backyard?
