I dunno BP, each exit from the roundabout could be considered like an exit from the club...

Well there's more movement in thirty seconds on the Brittania Roundabout than our board have shown in the last five years. Much like the traffic though, when they do move it often ends up as a horrific crash.

Topsy - you'd probably be happy thought, that unlike the roundabout, Nigel Smart hasn't taken up your cause!

Didn't the rules get changed after Centrals squealed about Macca after the 1997 Prelim?

Glad you've brought up the Macca incidents. He was deliberately taregtting a certain young player and trying to hit him out of the competition - premeditated and intentional. Compare that to the Gowans incident where he lost his cool and retaliated after being unfairly hit and I think I know which one was the more reprehensible. Don't remember Macca ever apologising either!

Did Gowans actually apologise to Schubert, or just to his CD teammates for spoiling their premiership day??

Who cares?
I don't.
I'm sure if James ran into or runs into Schubey he'll apologise personally and they'll both have a laugh over it and share a beer. I can tell you from spending several hours with Schubey on Sunday night/Monday morning he certainly wasn't making an issue of it and would be embarassed by the constant talk on it.

Only point of interest left in this discussion is if the Gowans boys play on how many games James will miss out in 2008 if he's found guilty.

Not having a go at you GWW, I'm just sick of talk on the matter from many, this thread should be left to talk about what happened in the other 99.99% of the game. Diss has already locked one thread because talks on the matter were going nowhere. Most of the talk on the matter is by non North or Centrals supporters and North supporters are copping the tag of whinging despite most of us taking a step backward from the issue.

Agree Wedgie,

I was talking to Schuey about it on Sunday too. He was laughing and took it in his stride. no annimosity to Gowans at all. I am sure that the feeling is likewise.

We (me especially included in this) get emotional about the events during a game because we are supporters with passion for the team, whereas the players have a different perspective.

I'm sure Gowans will get, and take his punishment, and both will live to fight another day.

They're both as bad as one another and saying Dew was 'young' just makes you sound like a North supporter ala Campbell/ Skipworth. Do the Gowans check Proof of Age cards before they do their work at the bottom of packs? Thought not.

Macca paid his penalty by missing his chance to captain his team to a premiership and anyway, him thumping Dew probably saved you another flogging at the hands of Port in a GF. :D

Despite what Wedgie and JTC said about Schubert's take on all this - I can say that on Tuesday night after catching up at the pub with Schubey, Walker and Weatherley - Schubey is still very angry and pissed off with what happened and the "propoganda" in the papers from Gowans. I can't print the words he used to describe him but even blind freddie could work out they are not complimentary.

Every dog has it's day seems to be the new catch cry amongst some of the North players.

Yep, most of them had a day on Sunday.

Getting old now mate, let it rest eh? It'll come back next week when the tribunal is held but we can all find something else to talk about until then, I reckon.

Smac, BP's allowed to have his say. I brought it up again originally.

And, to be honest, Jim can expect a lot of grief next time they play North, probably justified too. Having seen it first hand, I wouldn't like to be on the end of a reallllly angry Schubert tackle.

It's interesting to hear Harry's take on it too. He's a man who doesn't forget easy.

Something tells me that won't happen this time.
It was a terrible act whatever justification he'll put on it.

But....we're all capable of it if our buttons are tweaked enough.
I'm sure some of the people commenting on this have done the same in the past.
