Holy crap, you guys still talking about this? Surely by now everyone knows what happened and it's just a question of how long a holiday he'll get and then whether he plays next season or not.

Diddums? Is that directed at me for mentioning what Schubey said or actually directed at Schubey? If it was at Schubey, I wonder if you would say that to his face?

*BumP* Apologies, but missed a couple of days

That's just how it should be CENTURION. IMO it wasn't the best game of footy, and no doubt not the best GF.

North needed to get the hop on Centrals and hope they had a big enough lead at half time, but we had some pretty wayward kicking and Centrals were a lot more fired from the bounce up than I expected. We have had the hop on them for the last 4 games before dieing away but they were just to hard into the tackle.

Agree with another poster (somewhere), that they manned up from the ruck and pre-empted North's play too many times. Especially when Budgie and Wakes had the ball, they knew that both would try to lay it off rather than taking the kick and turned it over nearly everytime.

The third qtr was the killer, IMO, and North just ran out of steam, and some key players didn't put their usualy game in, possibly because of the tough finals (23rd round really), possibly the 16 years of finals absence against an experienced finals team or possibly, they were over-awed by the whole occasion.

We needed CD to have an off day (or be a bit rusty), and we needed to play above ourselves and unfortunately neither happened.

Didn't the rules get changed after Centrals squealed about Macca after the 1997 Prelim?

Glad you've brought up the Macca incidents. He was deliberately taregtting a certain young player and trying to hit him out of the competition - premeditated and intentional. Compare that to the Gowans incident where he lost his cool and retaliated after being unfairly hit and I think I know which one was the more reprehensible. Don't remember Macca ever apologising either!

I almost shed a tear for J Gowans then.

Sorry to say it Punky but I have the DVD & all I will say is now they are even. What Schubert did was exactly the same as what Gowans did, so they'll both get done.

But Gowans was retaliating and he has a good record so Shubert should go for more games!

I couldn't care less how many games Gowans gets.

If what has been said on here is true about Schubert hitting him first, it's amazing it has taken so many years for someone to give Gowans a decent crack.

I do know.

And if the DVD offer's been updated to this grand final, I'm more than happy to take one off JMO's hands once he gets them from Wedgie.

Didn't know Schubert had been reported, and we all know anyway that the one that retalliates gets done, but can someone please show me what the retalliation was for cause I have watched the video at least 10 times and cant see it. Thats my opinion, doesnt bother me either way, best side on the day won. I just want to see Gowans be a man after his comments, if he gets 10 to 12 he will probably retire which is bad, he should just use those weeks to get himself right for the finals next year which would probably be his last just like the coaches as one things that Roy is destined for bigger and better things

Locky i have finally seen the video something happenned about 10 seconds before the main incident both players were running off the ball and all of a sudden jimmy goes down, its really difficult to pick up what happened on the video bcos of the distance and both players look like they had there backs to the camera , however after this clash jimmy then gets up and chases Schubey gets around Slats takes a flying leap and gives Schubey a roundhose left to the face.

So its quite obvious something happened for jimmy to lose his cool, i wonder if Schubey will get games as well ????
