It must have taken off pretty quickly around Australia as it was a huge part of my life as a little tacker in the mid 70s and the song only came out in 1973.
I always heard it called the Madison too. Some of the more rebellious kids did the "new Madison" to the same music, which I assume was actually the original Madison.
Now, who remembers the Health Hustle? Bad Bad Leroy Brown...
