Neale has it in the bag, didn’t think he had all that good a year compared to the other year he won it.
Whoops, there goes another year. Whoops, there goes another pint of beer.

Neale got 3 votes in a game where he got 20 touches and Charlie Cameron gets 1 vote for kicking 7

Thought Petracca would have polled a few more since Oliver went down.

Lachie Neale runner up last year. If it wasn't for Carlton's legal eagle he'd be a 3 timer.

Not sure it was the right result, but glad I had a saver on Neale not long before the count started. JHF 3 votes for a 13 disposal 0 goal game with only 7 effective disposals another bizarre one.

The Jeremy Cameron 6 goal and 25 touches effort also an odd one. Only got him 1 vote, and he was easily the best on that night.

Definitely one of the more bizzare Brownlow counts.

Reinforces a lot of thoughts on the Brownlow that already exist. Kicking goals is outweighed significantly by midfielders.

Being at the bottom of packs and returning the ball time after to time to the umpire is the best way to get votes. ;)

This what happens when the stat sheets are not given to the umpires.

Like the Magarey, a meaningless award.

I don't begrudge Neales win but crickey there was some weird voting.
Sure you might get 40 odd possessions but be a bit lippy or question an umps decisions and that could reflect on an umpires votes.
It is a fairest and best player award after all.
The JHF getting 3 votes for a 13 possession game is bizarre.
Daicos has a 41 possession game at 85 percent efficiency and doesn't get a vote.. .weird!

So many of these 40 pos games are massively influenced by players taking the kick ins. Scrap that stat next year AFL.
