 I tried everything - slower flighted balls, meds, tried to throw in a bumper (if you can call it that), came over the wicket and tried to push it wide (left arm orthy).. just had no answer for his hitting.

Worst part was after the 3rd (which wasnt a bad ball he swept over square) realising i still had to try and bowl another 3 balls.

Could barely get the ball to bounce, let alone a yorker length.

I was on team Woody from ball 3.

I let Bedge know that after ball 4 the ball had only bounced once inside of the field of play since the start of the over.

All jokes aside, don't think enough praise, credit and appreciation has gone to Woody on his effort.

The bloke hit 69 off 19 balls! His 50 came in 13 balls.. granted he got a some snot deliveries, but it was power hitting at its finest. How many blokes can come out to bat and hit a ball that hard and far from the first ball?!

It was an amazing effort really, and whilst I was on the receiving end of the bulk of it, you can't help but appreciate the ability of man.

He's got over 700 runs for the season averaging over 60.. two weeks ago he scored 95* with 13x 6's.. the guy is in some serious form!

Well done Woody :partyman: =D>

Couldn't agree more. Unreal display.

What hasn't been talked about is how the hell he bowled those 'things' for 8 overs and got 2/11. That was unreal in more ways than one

Gotta say same for the NEK guys we had. Very good although one was a crow supporter and was happy to point out the score at 119.

Interesting last round in Grade 1.

Eyre Royals needing a win at a minimum to keep their hopes alive - an outright would pretty much guarantee them a spot. Currently have Craigmore 1/72 chasing best part of 200. Craigmore have had a tough year, but have the batsman to do some damage. Will be an exciting day 2 as Eyre strive to set up a result, whilst Craigmore try to end the year on a high.

ATCO made 171 against Angle Vale which isnt a bad score. Angle Vale need to win to stay in the 4 and hold Eyre at bay. They would've been hopeful of catching Eastern Park but that seems unlikely now. Second innings points could be very crucial here.

Salisbury West will win outright you would think, but North Pines putting up a heck of a fight. 13pts off Virginia, will be touch and go whether they can get enough points to jump into 1st. Virginia failing to take 10 wickets could hurt.

Finally Eastern Park with near 300 look like knocking off Virginia.

On a side note.. surely scheduling a Grade 1 match at Hausler Reserve shouldn't happen... ever.

The north pines pitch was deemed unacceptable after the umpire complained about its condition the previous round. They had to act fast to find another venue.

And yes, you can never write off Eastern Park, a few genuine match winners and Tuckers is in stellar form.

Not really an excuse for placing it at Hausler.. move from one unacceptable ground to another. I’m sure another club would’ve had an oval available - or move the game to Westies.
