At least it will be a good chance for Tait to impress his potential captain.

Its not covered on the internet beacuse its not an official 2nd x1 fixture. it has been arranged by the two states independantly of CA programming. BTW Del is delmonts nickname. something to do with his name they tell me

I'd be seriously angry if Manou gets in the final 11 fullstop!
Although, he has been named as the keeper in the squad, so I think the selectors have shown their hand. ](*,)
So based on the squad selected, I think the team should be:

Pura Cup:
Elliot
Deitz (wk)
Cosgrove
Lehmann
Delmont
Adcock
Cleary
Gillespie
R Harris
Cullen (can't see why Bailey was dropped but looks like the selectors have gone with Cullen)
Tait

A bunch of kids are dropped for the Pura Cup squad and yet Matthew Elliott despite 2 seasons of inept batting continues to be selected. This sends the wrong message to the younger players who miss out on selection and is making the selection panel, coach, and South Australian cricket look disgraceful. Which person will have the guts to confront the Borgas brothers and Daniel Harris and tell them a man in his mid thirties with possibly the worst ever performances seen by a batsman at state level for 2 years gets another life despite performimg worse than they have.

so making a pair and following up an OD zero and he should keep his spot???? bulldust.

However if the shoe was on the other foot and Elliott got the pair then I totally agree

The shoe has been on the other foot for 2 years, Elliotts last 8 innings last season accrues 37 runs at an average of 4.625 inculding a pair, any person witha surname of Harris or Borgas can justfiably ask this question " Why me and not Elliott."

It's an absolute DISGRACE that Elliott continues to be selected for pura cup. Their must be something that the public are not being told like a clause in his contract that guarentees him a game regaurdless of performance Bcos why else would you want to play with 10 players against 11 every match ????????????

maybe its because ELLIOTT is on big big buckeroos and the SACA are probably trying to get there investment back and by playing him, they are hoping one day he will make more then 20, then the selectors will be satisfied.

How, how, how can Manou still warrant a spot in this side? We have a more than capable wicketkeeper batsmen in Deitz who has done EVERYTHING asked of him over the last 12 months (at times being the only batsmen making runs late last year) and we continue to pick the useless Manou.

In previous years I've been fairly restrained and kept my thoughts to myself but the current Redbacks situation is an absolute joke. I've kept fairly quiet in regards to Elliott and given him more than enough chances, but changes HAVE to be made.

Then again, we're 1 game in, let's give the current squad a chance.

Hmm....

Ford Ranger Cup

This is the first match at home for the Tigers who sit 1 and 1 on the Franger table, while the Redbacks are the only team without points after losing to Victoria in game 1. Tasmania have regained Hilfenhaus after being on tour, and have slotted the in form Butterworth back in after a commanding display in the 2nd XI, so that leaves Tasmania at nearly full strength (only missing Wright and Punter). SA also return to full strength with Darren Lehmann back into the fold. Cleary to carry the drinks for the Redbacks while the unlucky player for Tasmania just might be Geeves.

SA- Matthew Elliot, Daniel Harris, Mark Cosgrove, Nathan Adcock*, Darren Lehmann, Andy Delomont, Graham Manou, Ryan Harris, Mark Cleary, Jason Gillespie, Dan Cullen, Shaun Tait.

Tas- Michael Di Venuto, Travis Birt, Michael Dighton, Dan Marsh*, George Bailey, Tim Paine, Luke Butterworth, Xavier Doherty, Brendan Drew, Brett Geeves, Adam Griffiths, Ben Hilfenhaus.

My Tip- Tasmania and pretty comfortably.
