If you are concussed at work during the week do you have to stand down for 21 days (SANFL) or is it only a concussion on the field?

Is anyone else's font size on the forum playing up. When I click on a topic, some posts are a readable size but others I have to zoom in to read.

This is what this page looks like on my phone. See how Doc's post is way smaller than Dutchy's

A Concussion is a concussion - that said, there is an emphasis on return to school/work before return to playing sport.

The first 48 hours are a definite no and return to work may be gradual, ie half a day other arrangements until you can handle staring at a computer (or whatever it is that you do) all day with no symptoms and you're cleared by a doctor - and if you've done it at work, there would be some clearance by workcover (not my circus, so don't know the process here)
My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit

When I was 16 I was racing motocross & came off in the first corner, sat upright & another bike ran straight up my back (had his tyre tread pattern running up my spine), knocked my helmet off & was badly concussed. Went to school the next day.

We've actually traced my depression & anxiety issues back to that incident as there was a noticeable change in my behaviour. So glad we know a lot more about concussion as my lad has had some nasty incidents riding BMX & started having issues but was treated totally different to me. He now doesn't seem to have any lingering effects from his multiple concussions.

On that topic I need to know why the genius 'bottle n bird' in Whyalla never franchised and took over the world?!

Drive in, grab a slab and a hot chook and chips or some dimmys whilst your at it! absolute brilliance.

How much sleep do people get away with?

Regardless of what time I go to bed I find that I’m usually dozing off near midnight and my alarm goes off at 4:45. I might snooze a couple of rounds but I’m usually at work by 6am and I’m lucky to leave by 4:30pm.

I have a 2 coffee limit for the day and they are usually consumed by 9am, I think I feel more tired once I get home, but that’s only if I sit on the couch.

I'm normally around 5-6 hours
Lucky I have a home office so I can work for an hour or so then go back to bed for another hour
Otherwise I'm **** by 6pm - that extra hour makes a mountain of difference to me

Im up at 4:20am everyday so aim to get to bed for 9:30pm.

Normally go to sleep pretty quickly but fair to say i probably spend 30 minutes a night awake during that.

So normally run fine off 6.5 hours solid sleep.

To be honest i find my nutritional habits and exercise levels equally play a part in my feelings of tiredness etc as much as my sleeps does.
