A bunch of kids are dropped for the Pura Cup squad and yet Matthew Elliott despite 2 seasons of inept batting continues to be selected. This sends the wrong message to the younger players who miss out on selection and is making the selection panel, coach, and South Australian cricket look disgraceful. Which person will have the guts to confront the Borgas brothers and Daniel Harris and tell them a man in his mid thirties with possibly the worst ever performances seen by a batsman at state level for 2 years gets another life despite performimg worse than they have.

I disagree. The message is make runs or you will be dropped. That's fair enough. Why should potential get a free run. I don't think any of the batsman can argue strongly that they should be picked in the team at this stage besides Lehmann.

I dont think anyone is saying they wouldnt pick lehmann, as without him in the middle order the batting is even more feeble. But what they are suggesting is the decision to keep Elliot there when is record is as bad or worse than anyone else.

Yeah, but panther was suggesting the Borgas brothers and Harris would be angry that they've been dropped and Elliott is still in the side. My point is that the only way these younger players can have an influence on selection is by performing and to this point they haven't so they would have nothing to complain about.
