Part of the problem was that 3 course meals were part of the package price, and some of the wine was free too.
PS: I'm not a pesioner - I made too much money while working and dabbling in real estate. But I'll check it out now I've turned 80 and retired as I may be at least able to get a minimal pension and thus collect the fringe benefits.

-12kg since Xmas.

Training has changed up from push / pull split. I've gone to arms one day, shoulders and core the next, chest and back the last and have added 2kms on the treadmill after each of the weight sessions.

I was doing 45-50 minutes of lifting, now doing 30 minutes lifting and 20 minutes on the treadmill at 5.8km/h and add some incline every 250m for 50-100m to get the heart rate over 130bpm. Try and keep it over 120bpm for the 20 minutes and over 130bpm for 2-3 minute intervals.

50 next year mate and as you know the older you get the harder it is to lose. My cholesterol and Blood Pressure were both on the edge of needing medication for one, the other, or both and at 48* I didn't want to be on both of them for the rest of my days.

Also, Mrs Boon has inspired me and not that she needed to like I did but she's been heading to the gym 5 days a week and it gave me reason to get moving too.

As for cricket, not a chance!

Ha! Still triple figures so it'd need to be stiff*.

Can't wait to get back to the gym, missed 10 days and think I'm still 5-8 away from having the energy.

-6.4 tried for -7.5 but that will do

SATIETY
Eating your meal slowly and taking 10+ minutes will reduce the feeling of hunger
Or so they say- yeah Ive noticed it does at times

One thing I do occasionally is eat the meal in 2 lots
Have half, wait 2-3 minutes then eat the second half- this one works a bit for satiety

Trying to eat meals up to twice as long as norMAL
Now having soup with a tea spoon taking longer
Eat with my less dominant hand - thus slowing down the process- harder and longer to cut portions etc

Aiming for -7.5 before Norwoods 2024 Premiership

Hi I'm Mots and i've become a 48 year fat fecker.

Never been slim or light weight, have a heavy frame but recently have blown out to personal record proportions.

A week ago I weighed in at 109.9kg.... my previous heaviest was about 106

I've oscillated between 95 - 105 for lots of years now and my peak fighting weight is about 90.

I'm posting here in the hope that a semi public posting on here (albeit behind a hidden username) will keep me motivated to do something about it.

One week in, i've dropped 1.7kg and currently sit at 108.2.

Not looking to do drastic life changes, or dramatic exercise regimes, hopefully move a little more and eat a little less on a consistent basis.

Wish me well.
