What's happening @ South?

All discussions to do with the SANFL

I agree with both of you.

If i was to say how much some of the Central star such as Gowans, Slade, O'Sullivan and Callinan were really on all the other team supporters would be disgusted at how much there club is paying half as good rejects.

I would almost dare to say that if the prices of every single player in the SANFL was released Central would be lucky to have 1 in the top 10 highest paid.

There's going to be a lot of screaming coming out of Noarlunga soon, that's for sure.

I've never worked out why it is such a losing culture at South. It doesn't matter who they put in as coach, they go nowhere.

Even after 8 spoons we managed to pick ourselves up and get a flag. These guys have just seemed to drift around the low-middle part of the ladder since I can remember.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Mate if Glenelg scored every player who either lived or worked at the Bay, none of the other teams would be able to field a side!

I will be bitterly disappointed if Jason decides to play elsewhere. He is the type of player with the moral fabric our club is gagging for. Will make a great leader around the place and provide plenty of experience for what may well be a very young side. I don't think he's the type of character to grab at cash elsewhere and put SA in the too hard basket. He's always played well for us and seems to have some pride in the guernsey.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

It's going to be a lean year for the Panthers next year unless they can recruit well to replace the losses.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

When Blighty took over the peckers he showed no less than 31 players the exit door.
It didnt do that club any harm..

............

Steps like
1.Appoint a Coach who won't take crap from the players.
2.Appoint a Coach who will cut club favourites for poor form or team balance.
3.Appoint a Coach who won't tolerate interference from the Board and past-players.
4.Appoint a Coach who can take the club into the finals for the first time in a generation.
5.Appoint a Coach who will be a handy scapegoat if interfering board members, past-players and supporters get paranoid over the prospect of success and white-ant him until he is sacked 3/4 way through a season.

Sounds like a great plan. Wonder why we haven't tried it before?

Spelly can you list the names of coaches sacked from each club during a season.

3 I can think of: Don Scott, Ken Sheldon, Rob Pyman.

You're right! Woodville won premiership after premiership after that! And then folded...I mean amalgamated & since then, 1/2 the supporters don't go to the footy anymore 'coz they've still got the sooky sooky la-las & the others still bitch & moan about what happened & try their darndest to denounce what happened. All went rather well.

It wasn't about immediately winning premierships at the time Centurion.
For woodville it was about being competitive onfield after years of thumpings.
They turned the corner pretty quickly and started playing finals football.
If Blight had stayed rather than go to Geelong they might've ended up with a premiership.

It's a VERY similar situation to Panther land at the moment.
