Love me a good tenth wicket partnership. Basically what won it for Australia last night.

Got a favourite? I remember a Border/Thommo one when I was a kid that nearly got us over the line. Dizzy and Ooh Ahh was comical.

Border and Thommo was unreal, so heartbreaking at the end

England v Australia, Third ODI at Chester-le Street. England win the toss and bowl again.

Head and Zampa out, Green and Abbott in for Aus.
Archer in for Stone for England.

Hmmm... interesting bylaws for Reviews.

Steve Smith was struck on the pad and both batsmen took off for an easy leg bye.
Smith given out LBW. Immediately reviewed and decision was overturned.
But the leg bye was not given and Smith had to go back to face the next ball.
Seems odd to me.

If the umpire put the finger up before the run was completed then fair enough not counting it as a leg bye imo.

That was indeed the case, so I guess the notion is that any other action is negated.
Seems odd though to me, I feel the batting team shouldnt be penalised in this instance; for example if the ball had gone to the boundary for 4 leg byes, I feel that boundary should be retained.

Turns out that exact situation happened recently

"As per ICC rules, no extra runs (leg-byes or byes) can be given if on-field umpire gives a batter out LBW even if the decision is overturned by the third umpire. However, leg-bye runs can be awarded if the on-field umpire's decision of not out stays."

I guess the theory would be at the point the umpire put the finger up the ball is dead.

This would stop a situation where a batsmen goes to walk off, fielding team take the bails off. LBW is found not out but then batsmen is determined run out.

Australia are hopeful Cameron Green will be fit for their blockbuster home Test summer against India after the allrounder was ruled out of the ongoing ODI tour of England with a back injury.

Green reported back soreness following Australia's 46-run loss in Durham and was left out of the XI for the fourth ODI at Lord's overnight after scans in London revealed the injury.
An Australia men's team spokesperson said the extent of the injury and a timeline for his return wouldn't be known until the 25-year-old arrives home in Perth for further assessment.

Such an unnecessary tour. All the Test players should be back in Australia preparing for the India series. Red ball cricket until the BBL starts. Fill the ODI team with those no chance of Test selection.

The last match of this series is tomorrow, the Sheffield Shield starts October 8th and the Border-Gavaskar series starts November 22nd. The Australia players have the opportunity to play in the first two Shield rounds where there are no international commitments and they could even be available to play in the third and forth Shield rounds if they aren't selected in the ODI and T20I series against Pakistan from November 4th to 18th. There are six Sheffield Shield rounds before the break for the BBL.
