Great Northern is exactly what it purports to be: a beer which is average in every respect, designed for pouring in large quantities out of taps in front bars. Not the worst beer on the planet by a long shot, and indeed nowhere near the worst beer in the CUB stable. The pub was promoting jugs of Carlton Dry for $20 for the duration of all finals matches. Can't say I was remotely tempted by this - though many of the blokes in my crowd were.

Carlton Dry and Great Northern are very similar.
Cheap watery lager beers but taste ok.

I paid $19 for an Asahi at the bar(Platform 28) across the road from Marvel Stadium after the footy one time.
