Gillespie was on 48 last night - Ponting 50 tonight. I don't have the answer to your question, unfortunately. Might be one for Bill Frindall with his "Stump the Bearded Wonder" column.

And congrats to Dizzy and Manou for the best 8th wicket partnership for SA in First Class matches. :)

I can honestly say that I was a touch worried about looking at the scores after work today, but well done to Manou and Dizzy for continuing on with their great effort of yeasterday. I hope that our score of 482 does not take away from the fact that it was not the batsmen who are scoring the runs. We can not rely on lower order players to score these runs game in and out, they have other roles to play in the game, ie bowl and get wickets.

If Di Venuto and Ponting keep scoring at this rate, Tassie will be infront of us before the tea break!

Ouch.
Shows up either our bowling attack (which i rateed quite highly due to Tait mainly) or our top order bats.
Either way these 2 (Divenuto & Ponting) are ripping us a new one at this stage!

In between posts the wicket happens. You beauty come on boys roll through em now!

What i hate the most is when the selectors keep naming MARK CLEARY as 12th man either play him which is what they should do or not take him

Phew. Can't help but feel we dodged a bullt by getting Ponting on "only" 96.

I think Tait's overrated personally. Fast, yes, but not enough wickets just yet. Gillespie isn't the bowler he was unfortunately while Cullen has yet to prove himself consistently. The big disappointment is Paul Rofe. Went to school with the guy and was a top bloke and burst onto the scene. Would have thought now 5 years on he would be the mainstay of the attack but has slipped behind a few guys. Was exactly the type of bolwer who could get 30-40 wickets each season but needed half a yard more pace if anything.

I rate Tait fairly highly and would prefer to have him in the test side over Mitchell Johnson. Tait is fairly injury prone but when hes fit he does take bags of wicket fairly often, i personally dont over rate him.

Brett Lee, now THERES an over rated Test bowler (good one day bowler though).
