WTF
How is that poor leadership
Surely they are entitled to have fun still

Nothing to do with his dress up, everything to do with him allowing the behaviour of others to happen.

He watched another player sandpaper his balls?

Its just none of the AFL's business imo, its a private function.
The bartender should lose his job

Complaint laid by a female bar staff member

It wasnt an official AFL or Club sanctioned event, it was a private show

The Club season was over as such, not sure that they can bring the game into disrepute if their season is over

The whole situation is a joke, the boys did the right thing, hired a private venue, had a session with antics amongst themselves, had a laugh, went home

If it's being treated as such by the AFL where is the players association coming to assist their players

Seems to me there are rules for some and not for others

Season is over.
How can their employer act on behaviour at a private function?

Imagine if our employer sanctioned us for our weekend behaviour??

Sounds to me like the only appropriate action could possibly be a ban from the venue for a month if their rules are like SA. But thats even stretching it.

So … the AFL say don’t dress up as Raygun or famous people to have some fun at a private gathering with only players in attendance … but …. take as much illicit drugs as you like and we’ll cover it up and pretend that we’re world leaders in drug detection.

Did I get it right? :-??

I find the $20k fine to the captain for not shutting it down to be the most offensive thing that happened.
The players would have every right to say ease up skip.
If he then lagged them in then he's finished as a skipper.
Unless there's violence or illegal activity going on then sure step in.
But in this instance he's just letting his hair down like everyone else.

Since when is poor taste a reason to suspend and fine people?

Could have the captaincy taken away and banned for a year…
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Sounds like the big issues are revolving around a P-Diddy dress up that included a black face and players dressed as young girls.

Season might be over but they're still contracted until October 31, or, under contract going forward. Still employees.

Just goes to show these player breakups need to be at someone's house, with no phones and no ring ins.

Maybe should've dressed as a white Diddy?

People actually think stuff like this is appropriate? OK AFL seems to have gone overboard with the fines - an apology and a few grand donation to a charity and all move on would have been the best play here.

It's just a massive over reaction from a governing body who can't even control the one thing they are in charge of.
