Get Ponting soon and we might just get this one. Lehmann the man for me to pick him up! The bring on Tait to hopefully blast out a couple.

Lehmann and Cullen bowling in tandem at the minute, have bought the run rate down from around 5.15 to a reasonable 4.55 so doing a good job

Tas 2/165 at Tea

183 to win

Think this could be a classic 1st hour after tea, need a couple of quick wickets but then they will probably shut up shop if that occurs

can see Tassie winning with a few overs to spare here. 183 off 35 overs @ 5.25 aint that hard Esp with Ponting there. If it were a 1 dayer, that task would be pretty straight forward.

Great to see Punter playing well before the start of the tests.

Come on redbacks at least hold em off for a draw and 1st innings points.

Tassie need more than a run a ball, so the draw is most likely. Ponting gives them a chance, but really a run a ball on the 4th day under 4 day rules is tough for 20 overs.

It would be nice to have another bowler we could offer up as being in form, but there's not many. Geeves did well, but picked up an injury and it was only the SA top oder he got. Not like he knocked over Gillespie!

100 to get, I am still worried only cause Ponting is there, get rid of him I think we will be safe although Dan Marsh can throw a mean willow around and in typing half a dozen words its down to 95 with Ponting on 95

Is it my imagination or does SA have a Poor Record when declaring and setting targets over the years ?
Just dont seem to have the bowlers to do the Job under pressure.

Thought this one in particular was a very sporting one to be honest, but lets look at it, what did we have to lose, Tait and Gillespie get it right early and get wickets we are in the hunt. It is obviously a belter of a wicket and Tassie have some very good batsmen all the way down to about number 8 and also have the best batsman in the world. Personally I would have put the target out of reach say around 410 but I can see Adcocks reasoning to try and make a game of it and if things went right give the side a heap of confidence.

Looking at it though, few positives have come from this game, obviously Manou and Gillespies batting in the first dig along with Harris and Elliott and in the 2nd dig, Cosgrove, Boof and Delmont all got amongst runs. Think Cullen has bowled ok as well but why the hell he isnt bowling in the last session of a game in a 4 day game puzzles me a little.

We may have lost this game but I don't think we can walk away feeling all that disappointed overall

sporting? the only reason it was sporting is cos the redbacks backed themselves into a corner by batting too slow this morning. i thought they would get at least 30 or 40 more runs setting the tigers more runs in the same overs- in that situation the batting side should be all out going for the absolute slog- why keep 3 wickets in the shed?
