If a player takes a swing at an umpire, they should be removed from the game. When we have an Exec who sees the footage midweek, ticks it off as ok and allows the player to continue, what do they expect?

Link to the footage SOTY? If it is all as you've said then the punishment handed down seems to be quite skewed.

Obviously not as serious as what's been discussed but guys square leg umpiring with their phones on them absolutely irks me, especially after we were told some time ago it would incur penalty runs. When we played Keswick one of their guys was using his phone at square leg multiple times and I was laughed at by my team mates when I said him having his phone out on the field should incur penalty runs. He didn't indicate if he had his phone on him for family or medical emergencies and to his credit he did put it away and didn't get it out again after I mentioned it.

It was posted on the FB page but removed. Exec obviously didn’t want people seeing the incident that was given a paltry week. If it was a paid umpire umpiring, they’d have been rubbed out for a VERY long time. But the fact it was a player umpire seems to make it acceptable to take a swing at them. Happy to email the footage to you if you PM me your address.

One game for swinging at an umpire. The umpire he swung at got 2 games “because he didnt walk away and “inflamed” the situation by walking back to his umpiring mark and had 11 blokes surrounding him angry. Victim blaming at it’s finest.

I've now seen the footage.
Definitely took a swing at the umpire, even if it was a pathetic swing, but a swing nonetheless.
Claiming English isn't our first language is not a defence either. If so, how do the WYC players know that the Coromandel players engaged in verbal abuse??
If ASCA are cracking down on send offs, in this video the send offset were coming from WYC the fielding team.

At Morphettville Park, our subcontinent players often tell us that we have been abused, but don't understand it, but when our players answer back, it quickly stops.
