PAFC 2025

Talk on the national game

Re: PAFC 2025

I what now?

I think Georgiades and Lukosius will work blokes over up and down the ground, Georgiades is mobile as Lukosius is and I reckon one is home deep inside 50 while the other one is up the ground. Georgiades 80/20 fwd/up and Luko the opposite.

Lord the big target and Finlayson roaming around too.

I also think JHF takes that 27 goals to closer to 40 with more time forward and SPP works into the midfield mix. While SPP offers the pressure side the goal sense and smarts is with JHF and I think the two of them rotate mid/fwd.

Anastasopoulos looks like a Rioli type, genuine small forward it's Lachie Charleson I have my eyes on. He's got some mongrel about him.

I'll be getting to some training sessions in the next fortnight so I'll see where blokes are lining up.

Can you break it down for when these players were on ball/2nd ruck or part of the forward rotation to get a more accurate picture of when they were getting their goals (in the forward six or midfield six)... ;)

I mean this place is all about facts...

SPP returns, Rioli is still around. Georgiades I think can play as a key forward despite Booney not agreeing. 8)

joe Richards will play i'm sure.. Finlayson is only 28 plenty of life left in him despite looking 40.

Ratugolea played CHF back end of the season, and Horne-Francis could spend more time deep forward.

Been big wraps on Anastasopoulos, have Lord who has shown he can make the grade... Lukosious ready made tall forward (will he play forward??)

I'm excited to see how this Jack Whitlock develops though, could he be a smokey to debut in 2025? He reminds me of Marshall a bit.

Whatever happens, I don't think PA are short of options in the forward half by any stretch.

Good to see us with a big name player, we've struggled in recent times except for hyphenated names (They don't count IMO).

I've felt as though in the past we should've developed this strategy when we had Robbie running around in the forward lines and plenty of other pace around, I'm not quite sure that we have that at our disposal at the moment unless we sacrifice speed in the midfield.

Having SPP back will be like a new recruit, if we can play to our strengths with a forward line structure we will be hard to match up on, I had a brief look at your question yesterday as from afar we seem to have a lot of scorers and our midfielders do score frequently, I'm not sure if it's when they're resting/rotating or any other plan that we're unaware of.

I always feel confident putting Rozee in as an anytime goal scorer in my SGM's.

That's horrible news. Given the link to a radio station and the fact all players leave/traded

FF: Rioli, Georgie, SPP/JHF
HF: Luko, Finlayson, BDJ

Backups: Rat and Lord

It's not brilliant but it's solid enough.

As with most teams, a lot will depend on how well the mids and half backs can deliver the ball into the 50, both quickly, and accurately.

Haven't thought too hard about it, but would suggest the 7th forward coming off the bench could either be a tall (Rat/Lord), or if a small, that's when Georgie can push up and JHF out of the square, or just go small for a 7 minute burst, etc.

Sweet could also go to the cage and Georgie out to CHF for periods of the game.

With that forward line I can't see how a bomb it long to the hot spot game plan is going to work, be fascinating to see how they move the ball forward of centre this year. All of the above are good lead up forwards. I would have thought Lord at 197cm is your long deep target if you do need to bail out in slow play or they don't change the game plan.

A true ruckman playing CHF is a terrible move in local footy, let alone the AFL.

If Port go down this path they'll make the 2024 SANFL Maggies look good by comparison
