I wonder how many North Pines players played A's the week before? The forfeited week two.

They didn't forfeit day 2, it was outright in one day.

We had Dave umpire us this weekend, he was saying that Pines were 5/0 in the first innings after the first over. Surely we would have heard more about that if true! If it is, then boy thats must be the best over in Grade 1 history.

Finals in LO1 are Definity tightening up. Centrals make it from here you think. Tough game for whoever finishes top in the minor rounds.

They were 7 down at the end of day two, Pines weren't 5/0. The game is on youtube.

Pines rang up during the week to say they aren't going to be there.

All good mate, it was probably 5/0 in Running Dave's head, nothing like a bit of mayo on a story, it was all one way traffic though.

****amended****

I stand semi-corrected, there was a fair bit of merit to what Running Dave said, Pines were 6/1 and Bascombe had 6/0 at that stage, about 5 overs in.

Nearly reminiscent of the John McInnes day out.

Just a shame he'll fall one game short of qualifying for finals.

Very interesting take on things bedge, would be crazy if the league gave him a permit to play finals wouldn’t it……. Imagine if it was already sorted? Doubt that would happen though :) :) :)

Had heard whispers that was the case.. would certainly be interesting - I would think opposition would have a problem with it.

Maybe PDCA should've given him a lesser penalty if they didn't want to see him miss finals, as opposed to granting a permit after the fact which frankly looks shit.

As per usual it's all about the TV ratings and getting crowds to the games.

You wanna see the best team, available on the park. They have done well to get in the finals from where they were looked impossible after round 4.

I would agree that it would be a better look to give him less games so they don't need a permit, surely they would assume that they would ask for one but maybe it wasn't thought of at the time by PDCA, and if they are providing him one, why would they not provide Kershaw one too? Would be interesting to see the reasoning as to why one and not the other.

Either way, whoever they play in finals they are going to test, with or without those guys.

Kershaw played round 2 and think it was 17 games suspension

Woody played both rounds 1 & 2 plus was only suspended for 14 games

Think kershaw ended up getting someone from Salisbury west to appeal his suspension and they ended up dropping a chunk off his games if he got a clearance back to westies where he can be “monitored” which means I think he’s available next game for them also

Forecast 40 degrees Saturday, beauty! Penultimate round for LO2 to LO6.

A draw in LO2 will mean OTH's chances are shot, and last round has Enfield and Parafield square off for a finals spot. Also with Warriors having Sutton Derby last round, every chance they'll enter finals off the back of 2 weeks off.

Similarly, LO3 would have Andrews Farm and Peninsula Pirates play off for a home final, and then play each other the week after. Eyre Royals finals hopes will end with a heated out day Saturday.

LO4 unlikely but Parafield could potentially sneak into the 4 if Dublin are slapped by Fitzroy in Rd 18 - but would need a lot to go right.

LO5 not a lot between 2nd to 6th, and losing a game this weekend will hurt. Parafield play Athelstone in Rd 18 you'd expect them to win, Andrews Farm play Eastern Park and you'd expect them to win.. finally Pirates finish with ATCO and you'd expect them to win! Can't rule out Angle Vale against the bottom side OTH as well... Long shot, but Athelstone could drop from 3rd to 5th if results can badly enough against them.. unlikely.. but Andrews Farm and Pirates will both be seeking maximum points to ensure they can grab 4th spot.

LO6 the biggest shock for me has been the drop from Salisbury West! They looked a flag favourite early in the year, now find themselves in 5th place.. finish with Parafield though so you'd expect a BIG win - if they get some bats back, it could be a very very big score! Athelstone the biggest losers of the heated out game, miss playing Eyre Royals this week and finish with Fitzroy.

Couple BIG games in LO1 this week - Adelaide Union vs Central United and NEK vs Para Vista.

CU and NEK are pretty much level pegging, either drops this game and may be the difference between finals and footy season.

LO2
QF - Adelaide Warriors vs Adelaide Risers
EF - Virginia vs Enfield United

LO3
QF - Adelaide Warriors vs Adelaide Risers
EF - Andrews Farm vs Eyre Royals

LO4
QF - Salisbury West vs Eyre Royals
EF - Fitzroy vs Dublin

LO5
QF - Parafield Gardens vs Salisbury West
EF - Peninsula Pirates vs Andrews Farm

LO6
QF - Fitzroy vs Adelaide Warriors
EF - Dublin vs Salisbury West

Surprised Adel Warriors and Risers didn't elect to play the LO3 game at Thomas Turner Central given the LO2 game is at Thomas Turner West

Grade 1 - Not a lot to play for, Angle Vale vs Hazara for home final.

Eyre and Virginia will both be pushing hard for outright results you'd think.

Grade 2 - Similarly doesn't look very exciting for the last round, just a chance for the top 4 to polish up before finals.
