Alan Singh has jumped ship from Christies to Porties. Talented 19 year old with pace. Another to join Porties is Richard O'Grady. He's been around for a while now and can be a problem for any team if he is fit and firing.

Riley Jones back with Cove is interesting. I'm pretty sure he polled well in the b&f count last year in the reserves. A great get if he's going to be at local level for a bit.

Looking at the team lists for both senior grades, I'm predicting a combined loss of 250+ points

253 points, called it!

Gonna be a long year for the Emus, hopefully the hand injury to their ruck isn't too bad and he's back asap.

I saw that, interesting move!

Few big outs/what happened to them on the weekend. All the rumours about Steele not suiting up for Porties seem to be growing traction, didn't play and isn't registered. Can anyone shed some light?

Same with Schirmer for Reynella, they've lost both rucks from last year's premiership team. Anyone now what's going on there?

Saw a bit of the Porties- Vikings game. Sproule was the cleear difference. Steele situation big one to watch.

Mate of a mate's brother's sitster's best freind said that Schirmer is not playing this year.

With all due respect to the Emus, it was men against boys. One of the quarters, I50s were 18 to 2.

They tried hard, I'll give them that, but it's going to be a long year.

Can you clarify what you mean by the Steele situation? Been some talk on here that he's gone and then that he's staying but didn't play on the weekend? Is he injured? It still says he's a Port Noarlunga player though??

Also I think you'll find that schrimer will be in a Reynella jumper in a few weeks or so after an injury, got injured during pre season but will be fine after a few weeks as I saw him at training on Thursday night doing some light work/rehab. They definitely need him fit and firing if reynella want to go back to back.

I think it'll be a great year and honestly there is no front runner or clear favourite. Reynella look like they have gotten weaker with arguably their two most important players (whitbread and Bornholm) plus semple who has given reynella two to three goals a week.

Be easier to list who hasn't said or thought that...

I must admit, Jarman putting one of his most dangerous forwards in the back pocket during the finals last year was one of the denser coaching moves I've seen, I think he should stick to player recruitment as that seems to be his one wood.

Saints - Wineflies - Saints
Ironbank - Port Noarulunga - Port
Vikings - Emus - Vikings
Falcons - Aldinga - Falcons
Cove - Noarlunga - Noarlunga.

Bit of a one sided round not sure if Saints-Wineflies or Cove-Noarlunga the best one to watch. No surprise if the Cobras get a win

Another good day of football weather wise it seems. I'll get my tips in -

Saints vs wineflies - Going to be a real test. Winies havent really adapted to the bigger oval in the past with slow starts - nearly being their downfall, And with Saints having some key INS this week. I think the Saints might just get them done for the first home game of the year.

Ironbank vs Cockledivers - Cant see porties losing this. Too much firepower with Sproule.

Vikings vs Emus - Vikings to wipe the floor with the emus.

Falcons vs Sharks - Again, Falcons to wipe the floor with the sharks

Cove vs Shoes - If shoes keep their A grade players in the B grade for another week cove will beat them easy. But if they bring them back up - ie victor robertson up forward and Luke Ross to pinch hit in the ruck will be a close game - either way Cobras to win

Cohen Shortridge and Riley Jones back from South for Cove. Ryan Need back in as well. I'm calling a 10 goal win there for the Cobras in both grades. B grade looks like their A grade from 2024.

So Ironbank have no 13s or 15s and forfeited a female game today what do they bring to our league? Another stuff up by the board
But you let shoes get away with it so you have enabled this. Hacham and Lonsdale got booted for no juniors

Wasn't far off the mark. Cove reserves won by 20 goals and A grade by 5 goals. Shoes wouldn't have lost both senior games to Cove in a very long time. Cohen Shortridge apparently kicked 6 goals in the first half, not a bad effort. Don't think he will spend much time at local level.

Looks like Aldinga, Emus and potentially Ironbank/Noarlunga will fill the bottom of the ladder this season. Going to be a year of pain for Aldinga and Morphett Vale, hopefully they can come out the other side and close the gap next year.

Aldinga arguably looked worse than the Emus did against Flagstaff Hill, the Falcons were missing all of their regular talls down back
