Well then i wonder who will go though to the grand final then.

B3 Semi Final Old Concordians vs Golden Grove was also one day game yesurday after no play on Saturday i know Thursday with the rain would not have help too etc

Payneham as they were not the home team, Adelaide Uni were.

Either way I can see the result being contested which means ATCA should have it sorted out by about 8.30pm this Friday.

Interesting one.
If the sprinklers came on, then Payneham needed to not play and challenge then.
By playing day 2, they have accepted the game and need to accept the result accordingly.

If an injury then occurred, that's unfortunate, but the game was commenced deeming the ground fit for play, and the injury was what abandoned the game, not the field, then that injury isn't on the home side.

Tough one for whoever makes the call, and with two clubs that won't accept any argument other than their own, I'm sure it will take til late in the week to see an answer.

Unfortunately for Golden Grove, once they commenced play on Sunday, they accepted the game.
You can't play having a free hit at winning, then challenge anyway, giving you two bites at the cherry.

GG had to contest it before agreeing to play.

If Concordia didn't prepare a pitch, then GG should have gone the forfeit saturday, not play, tried to win sunday, then challenge monday.

I don't know the circumstances, but GG may not have any choice but to play, after all, it's the umpires call. It looks a bit suss when you have an unprepared pitch on Saturday resulting in no play then a one dayer on Sunday starting at 10.30. OC win the toss and dob GG in and bowl them out for 39. Sometimes the lower ranked teams feel compelled to play whatever the circumstances.

Apparently the Flinders Park tribunal went for over 5 hours.

Not sure how many times you can confirm the bowler was swearing his head off at anyone within 200 feet of him.

Why didn't they prep a pitch???? Surely that's automatic forfeit?

It's pretty astonishing from an outsider looking in to see how three clubs within 5kms of each other have played in so many of the recent GF's at this level.

The rivalry must be pretty fierce between these clubs.

Couple of facts.
Sat was called off after around 8 overs and GG batting and umpires decided the pitch was dangerous.
Association and Umpires decided it will now be a one dayer on the Sunday starting at 10.30.
GG loose their number 3 batter due to commitments on Sunday morning at 10.30
GG arrive on Sunday to find a different pitch prepared which was worse than the pitch on Sat.

I assume you refer to the A1 competition. 11 years straight that either Para Hills, Pooraka or Ingle Farm have been in the Grand Final. The rivalry is pretty fierce on the field, but there is a lot of mutual respect between the clubs off the field at the end of a days play. All three clubs are built around a core group of loyal players which comes with plenty of banter and fierce competition when they meet. It's good that they have all enjoyed their periods of success along the way.

Para Hills and Ingle Farm featured in the U16s Grand Final on the weekend, both with plenty of talent coming through. Hopefully a taste of some of the future rivalries we will see in years to come

Yeah mate, A1, I figured it must have been close to 10 years but didn't have the time or resources to check up, I endeavour to pop my head in for a look one day when they clash.

Interesting one given that he will only be 10 minutes away, not real sure on how much impact a batting coach can have this far into the season.

Shield final may be over by Saturday but don’t think Cossie would be any state to play in a Sat/Sun GF just quietly.

Anyway who won the Medals at last nights ATCA awards. I know Kumarasiri won A2 but who won the others?

Mitch Thomas won A1 with 20 votes.
Winter-Irving was second with 14.

Gabb won A2 keeper with an 8.77 average, Para Hills lad (Caton?) picked up the A1 keeper with a 7.50 average. Para Hills also got the A1 fielding with Baker.

Brighton won Secretary of the year.
PAOC club of the year (must be an off-field award).
Goodwood with 5 senior men's teams into Grand Finals.
SPOC got spirit of cricket over Reynella.
LO player of the year made 920 runs and took 30 wickets, fair old season.

ATCA team of the year was Marshall, Kershaw, Thomas, Wamsley-Pace, Takos, Davidson, Winter-Irving, Caton, Kumarasiri, McDonald, Carey, Chislett.

Graham Wood umpire of the year again and into his 11th A1 Grand Final.

The steak was overcooked, the chicken was good, the cold meats and cheese platter for starter had been deleted and replaced with mushroom arancini balls.

Flipper was his usual best and mentioned his 159 within the first 15 seconds and also worked it in during the A2 grand final captain's interview.
Also managed to talk about his influence on world cricket, specifically left-handed wicketkeeper batsmen to make a test 100.

Night was wrapped up before 9:30.

PAOC are on the look out for another coach again next season.

Looks like Hooch is continuing to leave a trail of destruction in his wake. This time, though, he's returning to old clubs to do it again. Look out Walkerville, Goodwood and Glenunga.

Just had a look on the PAOC facebook page, doesn't seem like they are too upset with him:

Sam Turner has informed the PAOCCC committee that he will be stepping down as head coach due to health reasons. The committee and the entire PAOCCC community would like to express our deepest gratitude for his unwavering dedication and leadership over the past two seasons.

Sam first took on the role of coach 20 years ago, guiding the club for four seasons and leading us from A2 to A1, where we remained for an incredible 17 years. When we found ourselves back in A2, Sam returned without hesitation, once again steering us straight back to A1—a testament to his coaching expertise and passion. Despite the challenges of this past season, his influence has ensured our continued place in the competition.

Sam’s impact on our club is immeasurable, and his legacy is undeniable. We wish him all the very best and hope to see him, Leanne, Sammy, and James around the club for many years to come.

Not sure you should be slagging him off if his departure is health related either.

Hooch also took Walkerville to an A1 GF, and Goodwood aren't exactly struggling post Hooch's time with them, the club is flying with 5 teams playing in Grand Finals two weekends ago and their A grade winning the A1 flag for the third time on the trot.

Perhaps it's just Glenunga who struggled with what Hooch brought to the table.

Have to back Trader up here. The guy has a very good record pretty much everywhere but Glenunga. Not convinced them not being great is his fault. Maybe if they'd listened to him they'd not have their A Grade finishing 9th in B2.
