Having to post in a thread because someone has previously posted and deleted their post … which faarks up the thread and makes it do weird stuff.

Went to the chemist on the weekend to get another round of tablets only to be told that I had no more repeats.

Go to book an appointment with my doctor this morning and noticed he's no longer on the medical centre's list of practicing doctors! I'm distraught, this guy knows his shit, he tells me off and he's a straight shooter............and he bulk billed.

When you’re trying to sell something and the item brand new has been discounted by 1/3 in the EoFY sales.

OK then, will hold off until after June 30, except it’s now the middle of July and the sales are still going

Will hold off a little longer … :D

Just be careful that they put in the correct amount of active ingredient sildenafil citrate or you could blow a gasket

It's been such a testing past week, honestly The Advertiser has a lot to answer for.. two incidents somewhat similar in nature, but completely different standards of reporting.

What's the outcome? The one on the left goes viral.. the one on the right - next to nothing.

* Constant abusive, threatening messages sent to both the player and the club.
* Strangers contacting sponsors telling them to drop us.
* Strangers contacting Brandon's workplace to sack him.
* Abuse towards our juniors.
* Players being attacked in their workplace
* Players being actively approached by other clubs.

Do I condone the actions of either? No.. but in a day and age where mental health problems are so prevalent, this gutter level journalism is pathetic... and for what? Few clicks, likes and $$.

Anyone would think he was the first player ever to get suspended from footy.

Sorry to hear about the abuse, that’s not on, but you’re blaming the messenger. It’s not gutter journalism, they just reported what happened.

The players in question created the stories by their actions. The media didn’t manage the tribunal process, nor did they set the penalties.

Yep, simple way to avoid this is to not belt players behind play.

While you're doing your best to defend your club and the player from abuse, rightly so, I'm not sure I see much difference in the reporting done here.

Ultimately if you don't give people anything to report on.....

Yeah, the Pt Augusta one was newsworthy, given the lenient sentence and the age of the victim. It deserved the news time to highlight it's a slap with a wet lettuce leaf.
The Ingle Farm one is newsworthy because the end result is a life ban, something that just doesn't happen very often, if at all. We don't want actions like these on a footy field any more, if this happens after the game he'd be looking at charges being pressed.

I'm not disputing that both are potentially news worthy, and that players should not be acting so this happens.. but

Article 1: Names the club straight out, and then has the video naming the player. Ends up with over million views, 255 shares.
Article 2: Doesn't name the club, doesn't name the player. Ends up with 200k views and 77 shares.

That's my biggest gripe. I bet said A grade footballer + club in Pt Augusta haven't been copping the level of abuse we have.

Sidenote, one was an adult punching a kid in the throat, the other was an adult punching another adult in the pec.. everyone seems to think he's whacked the bloke in the head and KO'd him due to the article / limited vision, but that's not the case, and the player continued the match no problems.

That was a Pirie player from Prop Risdon Lions (yellow/blue) who hit the South Augusta player (red)

He did land on his head when they fell. Played out the remainder of the game without issue - had a beer together after the game.. I can only assume the delayed onset concussion came due to the the fall on his head.

Certainly wasn't from the strike.

I am not trying to be smart here, but why did he get such a large suspension for punching someone in the pec?

I called it in the ADFL thread but the reason it has over a million views is because of the players actions after the punch.

Even our lads at training 150km away were talking about it at training last night.......
