Regardless of how you may or may not regard him, well done by Simon Goodwin, firstly for turning up to the presser and secondly for the way he conducted himself during it.
Brad Green was fairly clueless though … talking up how great the bloke who they just sacked is, then when asked does the Board know what they need in their next coach, he says no.

So how can you dismiss someone if you don’t know what you’re measure of success is.
Telling that the Board offered Goodwin the option to coach the last 3 matches but, quite understandably, he declined.
I would have thought the cleanest way to part ways was to make the decision after the season, or more prudently, to not give the bloke a 2 year extension last season, but to make a call with 3 matches to go borders on clueless territory.
Anyway, it’s done. It will be interesting to see if Goodwin ends up at another AFL club with the alleged baggage that goes with him
