Cobras v Vikings - Vikings
Port v Emus - Port
Thunderers v Sharks Thunderers
Falcons v Saints - Falcons

game of the round? No exciting games so Falcons v Saints as they will both play finals

Can't argue with any of that. Might be a few 100+ losses for Divers to talk about.

I think Cove V FH will be reasonably close on their postage stamp, but that's it.

Or you could focus on Zac Sproule's game on Saturday. He was unstoppable. Was Men v Boys all over the field. Ridiculous crowd too. No parks left and people were parking down the bike path behind the bowls club.

No pleasing some people, much easier to whine about C grade forfeits instead...

Just lack of numbers at Flagstaff Hill at the moment, so many injuries. They had 3 blokes come out of retirement to play B grade on Saturday.

They've had 11 debutants this year, only one of them was a genuine recruit to the club.

Yeah mate of mine who is involved there said he has never seen so many injuries, plus guys taking trips OS

Valleys were scratching to fill a C grade yesterday, in June they had quite a few missing out on a game

That time of year

Is the C grade comp a top 5 this year? reads that way

It's been an absolute revolving door in A grade, I shudder to think of how much strapping tape, tubigrip and ice they've gone through this year! They've done amazingly well to still be sitting in second place, but I think it's going to catch up with them, unfortunately.

C grade's always been about having a kick and a laugh, no idea about the finals make-up though.

I watched Cove v Falcons on Saturday, if Flaggies are the second-best team in the comp it's going to be a massacre on GF day if Valley keep going like they are.

It's Valley's flag to lose, without a doubt.

As I said, Flaggies have so many injuries, it's not funny. 10 first choice A graders didn't play on the weekend (Shearer, Beenham, Mountford, Short, Milsom, Carney x2, Tomkins, Smith, McCormick).

Penultimate Round this weekend
Morphett Vale v Ironbank - Thunderers easily. Where this club is at and are they a good fit for the SFL?
Aldinga v Happy Valley - will get ugly, the flag is the Vikings to lose.
Noarlunga v Flagstaff Hill - match of the round, will be much closer than the previous encounter. Falcons in a close one but the Shoes still have a mathematical chance of making finals.
Reynella v Cove - Winies will romp it in, Cove have nothing to play for in season 2025.
Port Noarlunga v Christies Beach - Porties easily despite the Saints finding some form

Morphett Vale v Ironbank - Thunderers. Lack of juniors hurts the club and the SFL
Aldinga v Happy Valley - 200 points?
Noarlunga v Flagstaff Hill - agree match of the round, Falcons in a close one
Reynella v Cove - Wineflies by 80
Port Noarlunga v Christies Beach - Port with the big question being where does Sproule play

I thought I'd amuse myself, as I'm waiting on something at work.

Flicked through PlayHQ, Flaggies have had 43 blokes run through the A grade this year in 17 rounds.
For reference, Essendon will be fielding their 44th player this week in round 23.

First quarter was as good as they've played in the last month, up 5.2 to 1.2.
Next three quarters was crap, decided to completely abandon how they played in the first. Shoes more than up for the fight, too, played to the limit (and over a few times as well). Noarlunga deserved the win, were harder at it for longer, and were much taller than Flaggies, which made the gameplan of bashing it down the line for the last 3 quarters just absolutely baffling...

On a side note, that was one of the most laughably inept displays of umpiring I've seen in a long, long while, which includes uninterested 15 year old boys collecting coin for SANFL juniors. The sight of one field umpire leaving the oval at the end of the game, with his arm around a Shoes official and laughing, was probably a bridge too far, for mine. If there's one stain the existing president and his cronies have left on the SFL, it's the umpiring.
