You must have some free agents organised to come in.

Not that I listen to it but it’s meant to be a weaker draft this year

There will still be talent available and they will be gifted next years number 1 pick so probably content to have another average year next season

Out -
Rioli
Williams
Finlayson
Charleson
Jackson
Burton
Boak
Atkins
McEntee

In -
Liddy - Rookie elevated to main list
Ramm - As above
Mackinlay - As above
Barrett - As above
I expect Jack Watkins from PAFC SANFL to be taken in the draft / rookie draft

9 out
4 in

24,42 and 60 in the draft

9 out
7 in

So we're looking at 2-3 free agents perhaps.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Finished the year with 10 of our best 22 unavailable and a team playing for nothing with the coach on the way out. Wasted a year this year.

We'll be 7th-10th next year.

PAFC 2025

Postby Jim05 » Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:19 am

The Jackson delisting surprised me the most, though he was starting to show something.
I’m guessing Port has a few targets in sight as I doubt they are going to just fill the list via the draft

I've watched him close enough to confirm he only made the AFL side this year because of injury. 4th year on the list and bar a purple patch in 2023 never looked like making it IMO. Lot's of Port fans confused by it, I'm guessing they don't watch the Magpies all that closely.

It’s odd how many supporters call for players to be included in teams but never watch them play local.

Crows have Draper, number of people saying he should be playing all season have not seen him play SANFL to see he isn’t ready. Needs a development year

I thought he showed enough at AFL level - even if he did only make the side because of injury.

Tom Anastasopoulos got another contract and you said he's miles off it.

Rioli retired and we've opted to keep Stas ahead of McEntee, Williams and Charleson. Out of that quartet we've seen and know what McEntee and Williams can offer so it was either Stas to Charleson. I think they've picked the right one to give another year too.

Given how well Georgiadis played this year without Dixon(retired) and Marshall(injured) and Lukosius injured for parts of the year, what does the forward line look like next year?
Willie gone too
Surely you can’t play the 3 talls mentioned above plus Lord together?
2 max?
Mitch and ?
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Georgiades, Lukosius and one of Whitlock, Marshall or Lord for mine. Whitlock impressed me at SANFL level as much in the ruck as a forward and Marshall is a bit of an unknown with his concussion concerns.

DBJ, Richards and Berry the smalls and I think we'll see JHF play more fwd/mid than mid/fwd and throw in Cochrane who looked good in his few games this year.

Don't think Lukosius will play back, and Marshall CHF + Whitlock?
