You lot?

It’s not just the strength of the list, it’s the different support environment, the massive disparity in pay, professionals vs amateurs, etc etc. do you think West has the same environment to support a player as an AFL side?
The AFL listed players generally don’t have to work throughout the week to earn a living … as a labourer, accountant, real estate agent, etc, etc. they haven’t had to physically and mentally exhaust themselves outside of the football environment. They have the best facilities to support them as needed.
SANFL clubs can’t come close to providing the same level of support.
Regardless of whether there’s 10 AFL listed players or 22, these issues remain, and cannot be reconciled.
You cannot have teams in the same competition under different rules and conditions … there is no way to ‘equalise’ this situation to the satisfaction of any party … ever.
The AFL clubs do what they need to do to play at an elite standard, there is nothing wrong with that, just don’t allow them to participate in a competition that cannot allow the 8 SANFL clubs to compete at the same professional level, in all area of their football operations.
It’s actually a miracle that Port or the Crows haven’t won a flag by now, and if that day ever happens, all those that enabled it to happen, including the club I’ve supported all my life, should hand their heads in shame.
