So that umpire your talking about… the statement he made today saying it was a shove to the chest is a flat out lie? Interesting…

If the player genuinely went to the effort of going and obtaining X-rays then that would lean enough to the theory the contact was probably to the jaw if the player went to that extent. Obviously if no broken jaw was found then can play role in the level of force adjudicated.
If no x-rays were conducted then either no contact to the jaw, or contact was pretty insufficient / enough doubt alongside poor footage to suggest benefit of the doubt.

I think a note from the players mum should suffice.

From what I hear the Dragons were given the choice to front up on Wednesday night or tonight, but they chose Wednesday, then they tried to push it back to Friday, but the tribunal had already been set for Wednesday. Greenies pulled the pin at the last minute on.
Given once a player has been reported the laws of the game say he can’t play until the charge is heard, connecting those dots, you'd have to think Greenies are at least conceding he’ll cop something, hoping it gets reduced, but given the league haven’t handed out a single one-match penalty at least in my memory, good luck with that.

Big weekend of games coming up - Marion one win away from their first venture into D4! Been an impressive rise for the Rams in recent years, best side all year, deserve to earn the promotion and book the first spot in the GF.
Greenacres have become old hands at this time of the year though, and similarly have risen from canvas to win D7, D6 and now in a position to get out of D5 - when was the last time the Dragons were D4? Great resurgence from the Green & Blacks.
Eastern Park and Pulteney will be interesting - the Blues are humming along nicely, won 5 of their last 6 including toppling the Demons on their own turf. Two sides that love to score heavily and a ground that allows for high scoring encounters. Shame the season ends for one of these two, both exciting sides to watch.

The pompous tone of "The Update" lends a fair bit of strength to your point...
