Bit surprised by this, I think he's got a fair bit of potential as a ruck

3 kids that played in the 2018 SFL u15 GF who were drafted have now been delisted, one left - JHF

I thought they would persist with Verrall also.

No, but the value placed on "2 first rounders" is skewed, I think.

Lemmey and who else?

Of the SA rucks drafted in the last 10 years, I'd put him as the best prospect. Maybe had some work ethic questions early on but there's a lot to like.

Given the reported lack of depth in this years draft I'm expecting a lot of spots left vacant on lists after the drafts in November to sign DFAs and sign on players as clubs try before they buy in March.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If CCJ can be on an AFL list, there's no reason Verrall shouldn't be either

Yep recruiters believe the draft of 18yos might end in the 30-40's this year and the rest of the picks will be DFA's and re-listings.

With it being widely reported Mitchell met with Oscar Allen in Perth and now he's met with Merrett it makes you wonder how many others he's met with that hasn't been reported on?

It's the new world of AFL recruiting.

This Merrett thing is getting ugly. It's one thing to want to leave for success, but to burn the bridge and salt the earth on the way out of a club you are captain of is not a good look.

Sure is and it feels like it's only going to get uglier, surely he can't go back now?

Reflects poorly on both parties IMO.
The club has caved into him many times but ultimately we haven’t put ourselves in a position where he can have success. I suspect he knows he has to go nuclear to get us to force him out but it’s just a shame he is using his mouthpiece mate to get the message out. Both parties could have handled it much better

Sam Mitchell openly meeting with opposition captains during the season is the latest incarnation of the unsociable hawks
