4 weeks until Rd 1..

Maybe it's just me, but I can't recall a more lacklustre, uninterested buildup to a season before.

Feels different this year.. maybe it's just my club, but no one seems remotely interested in cricket.

PDCA don't provide many updates or generate any "buzz".

Fixtures and Gradings obviously don't come out until end of the month.

I'd be interested to see what registration numbers are across the board.

possible 35 overs in lower grades if word of mouth is to be believed,

I proposed 32 overs in the lowest grade only - same rules effectively as the women. Keep that grade only for jnrs transitioning to seniors and older players.

16 overs per hour, game would be done in 4.5hrs so by 5:30pm starting 1pm.. and whilst it's a bit of a drop off, remembering that a lot of the kids play 14s or 16s in the morning, it's a bloody long day.

Also, from my limited exposure to LO6 last season, 40 overs was pointless - each team had 3 or so players that dominated, majority just made up numbers, and rarely did a team bat the full 40 overs unless the key players fired... and if it did go the journey, with tiring youth + older blokes, some games really dragged out.

Only a few sides invested in participation over performance.

I'd love to see the bowling restrictions get absolutely butchered in the lower grades trying to work out 5 bowlers into 32, you would literally have bananas insisting that a bowler can only bowl 6.4 overs each.........................and then they'd argue over whether it is 0.4 of an over or 4 deliveries.

Yes, well you guys are generally up and about early.

Pretty hard for them to put anything out there, they do and then they get shit-canned for being forced into making late changes becaus clubs can't work their shit out.

Perhaps they could have the top 2-3 Grades start a week or two before the others, then at least they can sort out them grades then go clean up the rest once all the mayhem starts to settle.

Personally, I'd go 10 team divisions, once home, once away, top 5 for finals over 4 weeks. Wrapped up in 22 weeks, still one week less than previous years with no Sunday fixtures.
