Talk on the national game

I think one of the problems with Fogarty is all the outside noise about him, I heard Ricciuto earlier this year talking about how big guys take longer to develop.

He's soon to be 26, came into the league as a man child and is a generously listed 192cm. He's not a big man that needs time to grow into his body.

I still think he carries too much weight, his lateral movement is next to zero. Ideally he'd be a lead up forward but with his lack of reach the big defenders will get spoils in a lot of the time.

He's a very handy Robin, provided your Batman is flying.

The second tall is a tough gig especially if you're not a second ruck like say Chol, you'd almost rather be a small than the second tall.

His stats ( yes, Marshall injured ) are very similar to Marshall, Mihocek, Treacy, Zurhaar ( the ones I've looked at ) as I couldn't think of too many more true second talls.

Career averages for kicks / marks / touches / goals

Fogarty 6,4,10,1
Marshall 7,4,9,1
Mihocek 7,4,10,1
Treacy 6,4,10,1
Zurhaar 7,3,12,1
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Life might just get tougher for the Fog when he comes become the genuine second tall and starts getting the second best defender each week.

The crows need a gun midfielder, do they have a crack at Petracca?

I'd be all in on Petracca well before I'd consider Oliver.

I forgot about Oliver but with Petracca on the market surely it's as you said all in.

If they couldn't get Petracca, do they consider Oliver?

I would say yes they would. They need that next level up mid, can Oliver get back to his best? No sure to be honest.

Likewise but Petracca will cost decent draft capital whereas Oliver will just cost $

I think he's too slow for what they need, would be better suited at Port.

Depends how much of his salary you're prepared to pay. If he's on $1.3m and you say we'll pay $1m but give you less draft capital they may take it. If you say you're only paying $700k and they have the rest on their books they'll want more.

Both Port and Adelaide made plays for NWM so they both have the coin and draft capital won't be the issue, IMO.

2 clubs interested and upping their offers means it will define band 1 compo. Pick 6 compo would be nice
