Reflects poorly on both parties IMO.
The club has caved into him many times but ultimately we haven’t put ourselves in a position where he can have success. I suspect he knows he has to go nuclear to get us to force him out but it’s just a shame he is using his mouthpiece mate to get the message out. Both parties could have handled it much better

Scott certainly went out of his way on 360 the other night to explain they'd upped his contract by way of remuneration.

Zac led the group to knife Rutten. The club backed him in and moved Rutten on. And yes numerous times whilst contracted Zac has discussed leaving or met other clubs which has led the club to topping up his contract.
I think us not caving in to Draper and letting him walk instead was the last straw for Zac

Adam Treloar has signed a one year deal with the Western Bulldogs, next year will be the first of Treloar's time at the Bulldogs where Collingwood isn't paying $300,000 of his salary every year. That arrangement finished this year at the end of his five-year deal he carried over from the Pies.

"A South Australian native, Port Adelaide and Adelaide were both asked if they'd have any interest exploring a trade for the 28-year-old.

It's also understood another club was asked whether Redman would be a player of interest for them.

As far as it can be ascertained, there was no market for him and he finished off the year strongly, collecting more than 30 disposals in two of Essendon's last three games.

It's believed Ben Williams, who manages Redman, stopped short of telling clubs outright that his client wants to join them.

According to three sources familiar with the conversations, it was Williams testing the market on behalf of the player.

It's unclear to what degree Redman instructed his manager to have these conversations.

It's understood Redman is entirely committed to Essendon now, despite his wandering mind earlier in the year."

Not now, but he was earlier in the season.
No surprise that was released now by Merrett’s mouthpiece shortly after Redman had a dig at Zac.

Going?

He won't go to the BnF and they'll have to pull a swift one and have him run second by 3 votes.

I’m talking about the Merrett situation in particular.
Merrett is mates with Tom Morris so obviously he is feeding him information to pretty much force the club into trading him.
I think at the end of this mess we might come out of it ok. Clear the decks and hit the drafts hard.
Some of the media commentary over everything at trade time is hilarious though.
One of the idiots today declared that “Now Laverde wants to be traded out in a blow to Essendon”
Ummm, he hasn’t been offered a contract and the club has let him go

Ummm...Xander, Tom, Jon, Fox, all reporting on it.

Xander McGuire
@XanderMcGuire7
58m
Simpkin has discussed his frustrations with being played out of position with those around him.

With four years left on a deal believed to be worth an average of around $1m a year, clubs will have to make a significant sacrifice to land the Roos skipper.
