In fairness we have room for 2 more imports. Every win at the moment is huge. Rakosevic ain’t here for long.

The Adelaide Lightning is excited to announce that ownership is getting a distinctly South Australian feel, with a minority ownership group led by local entrepreneur Mohan Koo, joining the team for the upcoming season.

The team of SA investors are passionate about driving positive change, both locally and internationally and will bring this passion to the Adelaide Lightning.

The ownership team will consist of Mohan Koo, John Paul Drake, James Begley and Jeevan Koo.

Adelaide Lightning CEO Melanie MacGillivray said the collective experience of this team will enable the transition of ownership in the Adelaide Lightning to the South Australian people.

“This is an exciting new chapter for the team. To have such a passionate group of South Australians investing in Adelaide Lightning signals the importance of this team and women’s basketball in the state,” she said.

“As the Lightning grows, all team decisions will be centred around positive outcomes for the South Australian community and for Australian female basketballers.”

Mohan Koo shared his excitement in getting back to his South Australian roots by supporting the growth of the mighty Lightning.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to team up with such an accomplished group of entrepreneurs to grow the Adelaide Lightning. The Lightning has been a South Australian icon for decades and we’re committed to securing the team’s long-term success, both on and off the court” he said.

“With the season just around the corner, we can’t wait to see the Lightning back in action.”

The WNBL remains the major owner in the Adelaide Lightning after striking a deal with the Malinauskas South Australian government to save the Lightning ahead of the 25/26 season.

The investment from local owners is an exciting development for the Adelaide Lightning and highlights the league’s commitment to building a sustainable franchise with a bright and ambitious future.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Won every quarter.

I thought what was significant was that we only gave up 13 fouls and a tiny 7 free throws.

Pretty ordinary stat that. I never would've thought it's been 18 years.
