Sydney has offered a deal to Carlton for Charlie Curnow.

Pick 11, 2026 first rounder, Ollie Florent & Will Hayward.

The Swans want Curnow and a late pick in return.

If you want to go far, go together.

Not quite sure what Hawthorn are actually thinking. The clubs hate each other, he's contracted, and our captain*.

Pony up or piss off.

Take it, Curnow will win the next 3 Colemans but Hayward helps the mess of a forward line

Trade the picks for Ben King

Butters free agent next year
Walker father son next year
Cochrane pick 1 next year

Big 2027 for Carlton

I'm in on that deal if I'm Carlton.

Florent is 27 and Hayward is 26 + they have pick 10 this year making it 10 + 11 this year plus their first next year ( top 6 ) and Sydney's ( top 12 ) making it Florent, Hayward and 4 picks inside 15 in two years. That's a deal for me.

Butters. lol.

It’s a hard one. I suspect I’m in the minority of Bomber fans who want him gone but I also don’t want to be screwed by Hawthorn either. If they offer up something fair I hope we take it

He does have a point, though. As tired as the Essington trope is, we do need to bottom out and actually improve at some point, otherwise fold the club up.

Culture is the key building block, and no one player should be bigger than the club, even if he is captain. Merrett was removed from the leadership group before he was captain, picking a new one next season wouldn't be that out of line.

Welsh in as president is a good move. Young, business savvy and a footy background. Apparently he had a lunch with some old school Bombers types who wanted him to govern in the way they saw fit, the lunch got quite animated, to the point where Welshy paid for a few other people's lunches by way of apology for making a bit of noise. In the end they were all pretty clear that he wasn't about to be told what to do to suit an agenda, whether this holds out for long enough to make an impact remains to be seen...

Hawthorn has offered a deal to Essendon for Zach Merrett.

Pick 9, a future first, a second rounder this year or next and Henry Hustwaite.

Agreed :

Carlton - Take Sydneys deal

Essendon - Don't take Hawthorns deal
