Joel Thiele has signed at Glenelg after 83 league games for Sturt.

Apart from one game in 2025 he spent the season in the reserves unable to break into a very strong Sturt side despite being named in the best players 12 times

Good luck to him just couldn’t get a regular game in our league side with it been so strong.

Centrals have two more coming over from Sandringham in the VFL: a 207cm ruck option and a forward.

Dittmars defection didnt bother/surprise me. He was with us 2 years and has made it clear he is AFL bound and Norwood is his best chance.
Montgomeries move killed me off as an SANFL fan... a player good enough to play State and a long time Doggie. What's the point?

I guess my justification was Monty didnt choose to play against us like Dittmar was happy to do.

80k to sit in a car for about 7 hours and play footy for 2 hours a week, why would you bother with SANFL

There are other reasons why Monty is having a SANFL break.

He wont be back, how many ever go back to SANFL after a taste of the spoils on offer in the country?
