My team for the Pura Cup:

D Harris
Elliott (last chance for the 4-dayers)
Cosgrove
Ferguson
Lehmann/Deitz
Adcock (last chance, retained only because he is skipper)
Manou
Gillespie (get him up the order)
R Harris
Cullen
George

Delmont very unlucky, but Ferguson scored more than he did and Adcock needs one more chance given he is captain. It would be a debacle if Adcock's reign ended after just three matches. I think Dan Harris can be the opener SA need for the next 4-5 years and he has been reasonably consistent, he just needs a big hundred to get his first class career going. I'd like to see Deitz in the side at number 5 or 6, and he would be first cab off the rank if Lehmann was to get injured or Elliott continue his poor Pura Cup form. I'd also give Peter George a chance at this level with Cleary and Tait injured. He has the attributes to be a very good bowler and could surprise. Also don't need Bailey as the 2nd spinner with Adcock and Lehmann able to roll the arm over along with Dan Cullen.

I would keep Ferguson, Delmont and Adcock in the 12, quite simple make Adcock 12th man, he can still captain the side :D

PAIN. The Warriors are on fire. They are the form team in both forms of the game at the moment. I'll be cheering on the Redbacks but it would be a fair upset.

Mal, you don't think Tom Plant should get a go opening before Harris or C Borgas. Borgas has had his three chances and then some.......

Harris has been far from the Redbacks worst this season, especially with the bat. He is not an opening bowler in a four day match, but is an excellent first change bowler. To drop him, while he is contributing would be a real kick in the guts to him and I believe undeserved.

Yeah it is Daniel Christian. Didn't get a contract with NSW this year. Apparently he's been assured a gig in the Franger Cup match against WA on Wed. Big call from the selectors!

Moody thinks that he will be back for the Pura Cup, but Im no doctor, but hes got an issue with his stomach.

Daniel Christian is in my stable of young cricketers that may play for Australia one day.
Its no coincidence SA is after him
He destroyed us in 2 one day games last season.
Batting at 3 against SA he scratched around for about 6 of 25 balls and then literally exploded
He made 38 [41] and from memory hit a couple of massive sixes.
I was most impressed with his big hitting

2nd game at Adelaide Oval was another top innings
SA made 251
NS were in trouble 2/35 with Micheal Clarke out for 5 and Jaques for 6
Daniel played a blinder 68[79] batting at 4
Thats the game HADDIN hit a 6 in the last over and NS won the game

106 runs in 120 balls
No wonder we are after him
He is a good o/d batsman, but in 4 day games ?

Im sure DELMONT, BORGAS AND FERGUSON will be rapt if he comes over

F*ck em. If Christensen is better then too bad. They can just go back and work harder to earn another chance. Competition for spots is something SA cricket really needs. If these guys can't hack it the they aren't up to it anyway.

Can work in reverse
Too may players vying for spots can add more pressure on the players in the teams
The depth theory works at Footy because you can run chase train and commit harder.
As a batsman in cricket it gets mostly down to skill and luck.

Ferguson and Delmont are doing OK at the minute.
Having Daniel Christain come over could put added pressure on them.
